I suspect "broom" refers to something like the shape of the dispenser or, as someone else suggested, the nature of "sweeping" the fire away or similar.

English uses similar descriptors occasionally.

It's probably a fancy pack carpet cleaner like shake 'n' Vac..AKA talcum powder, and yes it is rather nasty!

Yes. Thank you. I think it was more the two words together that threw me plus I didn't get fire extinguisher and disburse or distribute but if it was instructions for use that explains it clearly. a reply to: Aloysius the Gaul
