2nd Satan Pie Recipe + Story

Satan Pie Posted by Krista Abair Ali

1 (7 oz.) package Pamela's Simplebites Ginger Mini Snapz
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
2 large egg yolks
1 (11.5 oz.) package Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips
Whipped cream

First, the crust:

Heat oven to 350F.

Place the gingersnaps in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until they are ground into powder. Place the butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl; microwave until melted. Pour the ground gingersnaps into the bowl with the butter and stir until combined.

Pour the butter-gingersnap mixture until a large pie plate. Using the back of a spoon, spread the crumb mixture over the bottom and up the sides of the plate, filling any holes as you go.

Bake the crust for ten minutes, then place the pie plate on a wire rack to cool.

...and then the filling:

Whisk together evaporated milk and egg yolks in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is very hot and thickens slightly; do not boil. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate chips. Stir until completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

Pour filling into the prepared shell. Refrigerate until firm (at least three hours). Serve with homemade whipped cream.

Now finally the top image search result from Google Images for Satan Pie was ...

Enjoy!

Angel food cake is so yummy I've never even been tempted to try Devil's food cake, or the lesser known Satan pie.

Olives and pickles would be a fine addition to a truly evil pie. It would be great to watch the looks on the faces at Thanksgiving.

And if you're not in the mood for dessert, Deviled Eggs are sinfully good.

A few years ago in a college writing class group I pronounced "misled" as "mYsled." I always that it was pronounced that way. My thinking was it is a form of "miserly." Kinda embarrassing when everyone laughed.
