I believe the reason you don't see movies leading to a "better world" so-to-speak (via revolution or otherwise) is because real world endeavors never lead to a utopia, unless of course it's a Disney fairy tale. There is nothing we can do as human beings that lead us to a better way of life. If anyone were to proclaim such a thing, they would probably be figuratively crucified. There are too many different opinions on what could lead us to a better way of life.... God.... religion... philosophy.... love.... technology... even Godlessness, take your pick. To say any one thing is the answer, would always be rejected, which is why it wouldn't make for a good movie
It's acceptable to be biased about certain aspects of acceptable societal perceptions, but when it comes to the unknown, making assumptions will get you thrown under the bus lol. There are plenty of movies about Armageddon, catastrophic scenarios, none of which ever lead to peace, but more of a "fill in the blank" ending. The TV show continuum is about corporations taking over and becoming the government (big brother) - you could loosely relate that to the archetype of the central banking system.
Whether we want to admit it or not, we can see (as a collective) the inevitable bondage of ourselves, but not our salvation. We don't make movies about it because we can't see it (as a collective). All we see is a bleak future. This is of course my opinion. I believe the collective mindset of humanity is that things are getting worse, not better and ..... sadly there's no way out. I believe our TV shows are getting more and more dark (as beezzer put it), because of that impending sensation of *giggles* "doom porn*. Real life doom porn.
