Why Such Hate For Fox News Specifically?

I'm not interested in replying to specific posters, but let's look at some actual information instead of slurs and innuendo. Not knowing the facts is ignorance, and we're all trying to be less ignorant, right?

FOX News is the most watched network news in the country.

149 months of number 1 ratings.

The top 14 shows in total viewers and the top 8 shows in the desirable demographic.

They're getting the old and the young and they've been doing it for over 12 years. This is not a brief swing in popularity. They're the one.

FOX News is the most trusted network news in the country.
Fox is trusted by 49% of Americans. The next most trusted is at 39%.

It is distrusted by 37% of Americans. That is a smaller level of distrust than any other network news.

Every other network was distrusted more than it was trusted, even CNN.

What if I told you that Fox gave Obama his worst press and John McCain his best press of any network during last year’s presidential election? The reason that it's true is because all of the other networks were so unbalanced in their support for Obama that the scales weren't even close to balancing.

FOX News was more balanced than CNN and MSNBC for global warming coverage.

The new study looked at global warming stories on the three networks in 2007-08, the peak of coverage of the issue. Of 269 stories, 182 were on Fox, 66 on CNN, and 21 on MSNBC. About 60 percent of the Fox stories had a "dismissive" tone, while less than 20 percent were "accepting" of global warming. Over 70 percent of those on CNN and MSNBC accepted the global warming argument, which the study authors also endorse. There were no "dismissive" stories on MSNBC, and just 7 percent on CNN, a proper balance, the study suggests.

The authors also looked at the opinions of guests. Here Fox again out-balanced the competition. Of Fox's 149 guests, 59 believed in global warming, 69 didn't, with the rest someplace in the middle. Of CNN's 53 story guests, 41 were "climate change believers" and nine were "doubters." On MSNBC, 11 of 20 guests were believers.

Conclusion? Fox News (as opposed to their talk shows) is fair, balanced and wildly popular in America. It is only disliked because it is more Conservative than Liberals would like it to be.

Liberals hate Fox News because they are a successful company.

FOX was pretty decent when it came to the GZ trial
Had both Prosecutor and Defense lawyers to discuss the case
Greta has always been fair regarding legal cases, going all the way back to OJ trial

Where as CNN was strictly for one side only
And well we saw what NBC did to the audio tape

What's a shame is CNN use to be good
But now.....it's just not the same

Really, you hit the nail on the head. All the media lies and should not be watched. Fox News is...well, it's stupid. So is CNN, MSNBC, HLN, and the multitude of others.

Beez pointed it out that Fox is #1 and...really, I mean REALLY, conservative. Which, I am conservative, but not THAT conservative.

To be honest, I would rather watch Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity than Nancy Grace any day. Even though those two mooks can incite rage within me just as easily as Grace. But at least they can bring forth a decent, albeit halfassed, argument.

Why? Quite simply because, sometimes, they actually report the truth. They are a LONG WAY from being truly conservative, and are actually what they claim to be; balanced. A lot of people can't handle any alternative viewpoint, so they attack the messengers. it's not complicated.

I don't watch any of the big news stations myself, unless something major is happening, and I want continuous coverage. None of them are completely honest, and some lie a lot more than others.

Because why not?

I think the question has been answered sufficiently answered and just throwing my $0.02 in.

Whether you like FOX or MSNBC or CNN, doesn't really matter they all disseminate the news that the majority of people listen to so you know where peoples opinions are based off of. You might not know if they believe everything they are saying, but that's a different story.

Once you stop trusting the weather reports from FOX, or any of the other networks, you might have larger problems.

But again, the main reason to hate FOX, because why not?

No seriously live close to NYC & sorry have to be vague about this but have a family member that works at Fox or MSNBC & their best friend works at Fox or MSNBC & they work with the talent directly.

So I hear all the dirt about these people...all i can say is on the Fox side - the only person i heard good things about is Andrea Tantaros she is nice to work with from the 5 everyone else not so much & that means their whole daytime line-up. But from what i hear Megan Kelly people run away from her in the halls - total nightmare to deal with.

On the MSNBC side - have been told Rev. Al Sharpton is a complete racist - he does not talk to white people off camera and does not acknowledge their presence at all. The guy is a complete loser.

Hear good things about Joe Scarborough - Morning Joe - nicest guy in the world and down to earth - his co-host total byotch off camera.

Personally ive met more sports people than news
Mike Ditka - awesome guy - really nice - the guys hands are huge.
Jim Nance - nicest guy you would ever meet in the world - like not just in sports anywhere - good guy went to my family members wedding.
Marcus Allen - another really great guy.
