Racial Profiling

I definantly see where you're coming from and agree...

When I was in high school I had a bumper sticker on my car for the local hard rock radio station, x101.5.....Their big thing was to dare people into doing stupic # so they could get prizes and free stuff....and oh man did me and my friends ever!! If a cop in our town had half the brains to pull over people with those bumper stickers back then, they would have had the same success rate...

So I can see where profiling based upon different demographics and trends can come in useful....but like you said - When used from a niave and bias standpoint, which I fear is more common, it does more harm than good....

Ok peeps, why not just alter the constitution, lets send all people of Middle Eastern decent that practice the muslim religion back to thier own countries of origin.

Afghan Americans back to Afghanastan
Syrian Americans back to Syria
Iraqi Americans back to Iraq or whats left of it (lol)
Arab Americans back to Saudi Arabia
Iranian Americans back to Iran

and so on and so on....

I believe if we paid Saudi Arabia the 12 trillion dollar debt we owe them, this problem would go away anyway, it almost seems as if the terrorists are just an old style mafia collection agency anyway.



Freedom of Religion... ok this applies to most religions to our constitution but if I recall the salem witch trials were granted that right but it was overlooked because of what they actually practiced and that did happen after that piece of the constitution was written. So by excluding the Muslim religion should'nt be that big of deal.

Oh and racial profiling, if you are a caring human loving person, get these people off our soil before an attack with a WMD does occur because I truely feel these people innocent or not will never have a chance in the United States with the hatred that will breed from such an event.

I think we have all forgotten how we felt on September 12th a few years back. (the day after)

If somebody told you today, that a massive attack was planned tomorrow that would kill thousands and the only way they could stop it was to round up all people wearing the color blue and detain them. Would you protest? What if you were innocent AND wearing the color blue, would you mind so long as it was preventing a massive attack?

Right now the overwhelming majority of terrorists that are threatening the US just happen to be from the middle east or of Arabic decent. As chances would have it, they are also Muslim. If the majority of the threat against the US is made of people who fit this profile, why is it wrong to focus on people in this group? Yes, a significant portion will be innocent, but some wont be. Why would our severely stretched resources focus on groups or people who statistically aren�t making threats of this nature? Makes no sense. Maybe if we could evaluate 100% of everybody all the time profiling wouldn�t be necessary, but that obviously isn�t realistic.

Mmmm�..Terrorist attacks or hurt feelings from profiling�Mmmm�Tough choice�NOT!!!

Lets not all get our feelings and emotions get in the way of an effective way to combat and avoid crime.

The issue isn't profiling by "race", whatever that means. That's not relevant.

What matters is profiling by national origin, and by ideology (radical political Islamism/Jihadism).


A fair number of Arabs in the USA are Christian. In particular near where I live is a community of Iraqis who escaped from Iraq to the USA for the very reasons that Iraq is the #hole it is.

Another thing that is seemingly getting forgotten about here is that in order for a profile to be effective the historical FACTS need to be in place to support it. I mean the trend needs to be there. To use a profile thats not supported by real historical fact is pointless. So to say "profiles dont work! They have no basis" would be a false statement. Good profiling, i.e. successful profiling, is based on historical statistics from real cases to support it.

I am 34 years old, live in Northern NJ, have a wife and child, work a part time job as well as running my own business, participate in helping out my community, have a well knit group of friends as well neighbors, pay my taxes, vote, served in the armed forces and my heritage runs back as far as the Mohican tribe in upstate NY. My great grandfather came here from Denmark and married my great grand mother right of the reservation on the other side my great grandmother and grandfather both migrated here from France. My religious beliefs are null, my parents were active catholics but never forced thier beliefs on us as they wanted us to grow up and make decisions for ourselves. So do you have enough? So tell me am I a candidate to be a terrorist, a serial killer, a pedaphile ..etc. I think not, instead of worrying about what the "White American" is doing, start worrying about what your sand burnt dark skinned brothers from the middle east are planning.. they are your true problem...

At this point in time, middle eastern men who follow the Muslim beliefs are our true enemy and if you cant see that then you are blatenly ignorant. Realise this, one of the highest muslim clerics in Saudi Arabia gave Osama Bin Laden his blessings to hurt the American people for the losses of muslims who have passed over the years. So do yourself a favor Newbie look around at what our country is actually facing before opening your mouth..

I would have to say "white". but just an observation. In reality with no pun intended, most middle eastern men have a very distinct look about them, which I am sure most of you are aware of.

Now how can that question be answered? The bottom line question of this thread simply is to ask about racial profiling. If a particular group is guilty more than 50% of the time commiting a certain crime - should that particular group be under an intensified scrutiny?

Racial profiling, while it may result in a few successful cases, will eventually create a deep chasm between whites and non-whites. You are looking for more trouble.

With all due respect, in case you haven't noticed that chasm already exists, and t's deeper than you can ever imagine. I don't really care much about PC. What I do care about is that everyone, no matter their race, religion, or sexual orientation is able to go about their lives without having to worry about a small sect of indivduals destroying their future. If ONE, and I mean ONE "terrorist" can be stopped due to the fact that he/she was being observed by my fellow human beings, then I ABSOLUTELY think it's worth it. These are bad times, and the "enemy" is talking about a means that takes out Millions. MILLIONS. That is more people than MANY of the towns in this great nation of ours. MILLIONS. If all I have to do is observe the practices of some folks, I will do it. There are MANY folks of every nationality who are fine upstanding citizens, and I would do nothing but befriend them, however that being said, I believe that in these times, it is NECESSARY to keep an awareness towards those whose brothren threaten to "Wipe out the USA" Over my dead body. GOD BLESS THE USA, and EVERY one of her people.
