I saw this article on 12160.info today and I was curious what my favorite community thinks of it. I think most of us believe that Syria is being white washed by the Western government and media.

Or did the UN not stop the broadcast

OR are these Syrian sympathizers lying to us? I'm checking but first thought is unlikely.

Title is quoted from 12160.info

Yesterday at 11am, the Syrian Mission to the United Nations convened a press conference featuring people from the US who observed the recent elections.

Five minutes into the opening comments of Syrian Ambassador Bashar Al-Jaafari, the UN webcast cut off. The thousands of journalists, political analysts, and others who view UN webcasts each day from all over the world were denied the ability to watch the press conference, and hear what was said.

This is not the first time this has happened when Bashar Jaafari is speaking. This occurred on June 7th earlier this year, and on numerous occasions throughout 2013. Reporters at Inner City Press reported that this is not accidental, but was ordered by Michele DuBach, Acting Deputy Director-News & Media Operations.

This comes in the context of other UN harassment of Syria. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon has met with Ahmad Jarba, a leader of violent insurgent groups in Syria, but has refused to meet with Bashar Jaafari. Though Syria pays over $1 million to the UN each year, it is not being treated as an equal member state.

Watch the important, UN Press Conference about Syria, that someone obviously doesn’t want you, or anyone else, to see:

Cause he don't not look the type,??

I think it was just an analogy (a sensationalist one) that shows that calling yourself something but not practicing it takes away the validity.

Thanks heaps for posting that presentation. The western media has been against Assad since the fall of Libya and frankly I have not been able to make out a reasonable case for why Assad should go with all the propaganda I have been faced with. All I am really left with is corporate interests lying about democratic principles that has continued to destabilize nation after nation all around the world.

It is good to hear that the Syrian spirit is still strong despite all the international harassment and interference that has gone on.

Its looking more and more like the Syrian people are not going to get the best of two good choices no matter what happens isn't it?
Do those who support Assad(other than his ethnic group) do so out of loyalty or desperation?
Facing them is an extremism that I liken to the reign of such as Pol Pot of Cambodia.....

What confounds me about the Syrian crisis is the silence of the Israeli's to what is going on next door t this paranoid nation.

As we all know who controls the media - silence is the way - except for most of us who are now looking in the UK's utterly unbelievable stance and cameron's sudden desire to intervene in Iraq - so why Iraq and not Syria - afterall cam armed the rebels in another ME country before war was even declared - yet another cam bloomer of which there are way too many.

Our handling of the ME is purely for oil and to keep those who make money from oil and war ie the bankers and their tendril companies that go into a war zone, that can pay of course with their oil etc, to repair the damage. Do our governments think we are all suckers - they are if they believe their own propaganda which most of us today don't.

I think that just like Libya, it is all a geo-political chess game aimed at removing all blocks to US/Nato hegemony globally, especially client regimes of Russia or other. Syria happens to be one.
