Wow! there seems to be a lot of lefties and mixed handedness going on in this hizzy... thou the obvious explanation is those who relate, are
more likely to be replying.
Lefty here...or as they say, one of those who are in their 'right mind'!!
I have learned over the decades, though, how to use my right hand on occasion--like with my computer mouse! Welcome to one of my favorite sites.
I use it as an excuse for lots of stuff. My handwriting stinks, hey, I'm left handed. I try to open doors wrong, oops, left handed. I'm clumsy,
sorry left handed.
Nobody buys it, really, but it makes me feel better to have some sort of excuse.
I'm left handed too. As a child, teachers were determined I was not going to write with my left hand ! It was really frowned upon. It was seen as
some form of handicap.
Unbelievable !!! ( This was the late 50 's / early 60's. )
I remember teachers drawing the attention of my " Defect " to the entire class, too.
I seem to think I was the only left hander in the class, at the time.
As a result of this, I grew up writing with my left hand badly. I used to get hold of door knobs awkwardly too.. ..
I still smudge cheque books ! Not that I need to use one often these days.
Made up for this " Drawback " in life, since. I think I've done o.k, and am happy with my lot....
Fellow lefties unite!
You know, at one of my recent jobs about 80% of our staff slowly realized that we were all left handed. It was brilliant to outnumber the right handed
folk for once. We never did make it far enough to incorporate a store wide switch to left handed scissors though...
