If someone could identify the weapons in this picture it would help.

Gotta laugh at how people just interpret "high power" to mean whatever they want it to mean.

I didn't interpret it as anything, I just identified the NB RCMP as the source of the term "high powered" rifle. All I put forward as an assumption is that it's likely not a hunting rifle. Please don't put words in my mouth, thanks.

its a mini 14 as i posted before.
thats a 10 round mag and .223 5.56 doesn't make a large hole and often times that caliber will not stop a man after numerous rounds

edit: actually that may be a 20 round mag.

No scope? He must be a good marksman. Even if it was a plain hunting rifle, I would've expected him to have decent optics for this mission.

That is 10 rounds max. You can't even get 20 round mags here for that caliber, unless he bought them on the black market (seems unlikely in Moncton?) or smuggled it in or something. looks like a 5 round magazine to me.

This little biography disturbs me. I never like to hear that a normally likable laid back character suddenly became a raving ill looking gaunt maniac out for revenge in the space of two or three months, and then goes on a rampage with newly purchased weapons.

There is more to this story. There better be more.

The Star's Allan Woods captures a chilling picture of suspect Justin Bourque from a close friend:

A "radical restart" to his otherwise calm personality in February. That's when a Facebook page crammed with gun glorification and anti-government posts starts.

The last Facebook post, on Wednesday evening, quotes Megadeath lyrics: "A little man with a big eraser, changing history. We know the worst is yet to come. I believe my kingdom will come."

Two guns, a Chinese M14 and a shotgun, bought in April.

A move to a trailer park in the spring. The last time the friend saw Bourque, Bourque looked ill and gaunt.

Truly doubt any coincidence. I've been on the look out for the drill because the implications mean this kid is running for his life and needs our prayers, which is how I normally see these events now. My own 2 oldest boys are 24 and 23 and when a crisis actor suddenly realizes he's going to be dead and they've just set him up, a beautiful young kid like one of my sons, really upsets me. It REALLY UPSETS ME and I speak up

Bless. So, the three people he appears to have killed doesn't upset you? Very strange how selective some people on this site are.

5 round Mini-14 mags sit flush so it wouldnt stick out like that.

Do you guys have pinned larger mags? I know some of the sad states in the US will have 30 round and 20 round mags that have been pinned to only accept the legal max of 5 or 10.

Could be a mag like that.

a reply to: DeadSeraph A bit long to be 5 rounds.
I'll go with 10 since as you said 20 seems unlikely.

That magazine looks long enough to hold 20 rounds.

Never thought of that. He could have bought a pinned magazine for sure, and then just unpinned it himself. Not like it's hard to do.

I'm sure everybody knows but there are live audio feeds for many cities emergency services.

Here is one from Moncton emergency services:

When she first spotted the man, he was running while holding a firearm above his head “and yelling something about ‘Come get me cops,’” Wilson said.

Woman came face-to-face with suspect: 'I thought he was going to shoot me'

It appears he's targeting cops. Probably just walked right by this civilian who snapped the photo.

Many things point to that time showing something changed in his life. For the worse. Likely involving the RCMP.
