Will Philae Explode When It Reaches Comet Chury?

Something unexpected HAS happened.

The situation is extremely unclear -- and highly interesting.

None of the anchoring systems have functioned.

it seems to have drifted off the surface and landed again.

No images from the surface yet.

Surface composition/consistency may be snow-like, nothing to grab onto.

The surface material is probably too loosely packed for the harpoons to get a purchase.

I'd imagine lots of dust that was ejected by sublimating gasses, and then gently settled onto the surface.

By the way, since the EU proponents love lab experiments so much, here's an "accidental" lab experiment, where mineral dust was found to trap gasses even in a vacuum chamber, and release them when disturbed:

This mechanic could explain cometary activity far away from the Sun.

Quick update: it is unclear why the "harpoons" did not function properly. The lander is apparently lying on its side, compromising the efficiency of its solar panels. There have been no mysterious electrical phenomena or unexpected radio interference. Would an EU theorist please explain how this is even possible?

Other analyses suggest the comet's surface is largely water-ice covered with a thin dust layer.
