Is There any Reprieve from Collection Agencies?

I was shocked a few years ago when one called and asked if I knew my neighbor because she had a huge unpaid bill and they were trying to get in touch with her. I was so mortified for her! It's just outrageous that thet would stoop so low as to try and embarrass her like that.

I'm not ashamed to say - I lied. I said I was very familiar with all of my neighbors and none of them went by that name. Hopefully it had them scratching their heads for at least a little while.

One of the good things about mobile tech these days .. one can set it to accept calls from only the people you wish to speak to the rest get blocked .. works a charm not bothered with annoying calls from people that have no interest in speaking to. Been using mobile since late 80s .. its changed alot since those days ..

We didn't want to spend extra money in the end and so went with a probably much less ethical (but entertaining) solution. We have since employed an air horn to the task.
