So about five years ago, when I was working on a thesis paper, I messaged prominent scientists in paranormal psychology and their responses were to
buy and read their books. This was a moment where I thought, wait a minute, maybe I should do that!
So I bought them personally from the ones that I could and got signed copies, and they offered to answer questions if I had any. I bought the rest off
of e-bay.
My reading list:
*Parallel Universes: Dr. Fred Alan Wolff
*The Yoga of Time Travel: Dr. Fred Alan Wolff
*The Eagle's Quest: Dr. Fred Alan Wolff
*'___' The Spirit Molecule: Dr. Rick Strassmanan
*Godel, Escher, Bach: Dr. Douglas R. Hofstadter
In addition to that, it has been recommended that I read:
*Aristotle: Politics
*Plato: Republic
*Derrida: Writing and Difference, Of Grammatology
*Aleister Crawley: The Book of Thoth
*A Guide to the I Ching
*The Principle (Level 4) by the Moonies cult - I got handed this by a homeless man - level 4, it might be restricted.
*The Communist Manifesto
I find that when someone recommends I read a book, even the author of the prestigious book, I will tend to discount it - but the truth of the matter
is that I should take it seriously and order the book and read it.
The Universe is kind of saying that you should read the book, whoever recommended it to you probably is perceptive and knows it would illuminate your
situation. A prominent author knows the content he has put into each book, and from your questions, recommends a book that he thinks will efficiently
answer them in-depth.
A lot of times, it helps to get outside information into our little bubbles to truly make progress and keep from going in circles.
Also, I have found that I learn quite a bit by reading just one book these days, especially ones that are dense and put together extremely well. What
I learn in the books are not often easy to find on the internet until the books have been read and then - then magic happens, you can search for
specific details and end up on the far corners of the net.
I use
e-bay to purchase books that people recommend to me, and I use my
Netflix DVD que to
immediately order a movie if someone recommends I see it or mentions it., i
I had someone on ATS recommend a movie to me this week, in fact, and put it to the top of my DVD que. Recently, I found out that I am very stupid
compared to other people out there - so I have a lot of research to catch up on.
One last thing, those videos that people post in threads, even if they are two hours long, they are worth watching most of the time, I have yet to see
one that wasn't worth my time. These are gemstones that we might overlook in our daily lives that could lead to hours, if not years, of discovery on
certain topics we didn't even know existed.
This is one of those things that I think I pick up as an author and amateur reporter - this information, you have to know how to find it, a lot of
times it seems like there is nothing to write about and it isn't easy to find - sometimes you have no leads, and these ideas I mention are sources of
some leads sitting right in front of us in our daily lives.
One book could be the source of ten threads, even novel ones, if certain aspects of it that interest you are then researched further on the net. I
have been to dark corners of the net before where very, very secretive information lies just sitting there - but it is on a website with less than 100
hits, for example, because it is so particular -
Books can give you the keywords to look for secrets online, as when a lot of them were written, they mention secrets and then purposefully leave out
the details, never expecting that naming the esoteric secret would be the key to finding it on the Internet.
