Police States and Right Raping

Negative and controlling government policies are only on the rise recently in US. Would I be wrong to assume much more of this then easily presented? These acts of law and policy (patriot, GNB acts) seem to me to be precusor. Leading to something worse. Not to mention they're designed to work together and play off of small loopholes engrained with eachother. If this were to continue who knows might happen. There's a creepy smugness to all of this I dont like. It all seems like a chess game played against us.
