Are there any LDS people who have discovered clues to the cities of the nephite and lamanite civilizations in central and south america?

There's a lot of NON-LDS research into the connections between the old world and the new. It's becoming rather popular in some circles, and I believe Mr. Hancock has provided the best SCIENTIFIC evidence establishing lniks between Egypt and Ancient America.

One of the most compelling is the links between the Pyramids at Tenochitlan and the Pyramids at Giza.
