In good old days ,NDS and Wii emulators are quick to release, PSP crack released in the a year since PSP released.
But now ,3DS crack(can running commercial games) released after more than 2 years since 3DS release.PSV still no crack yet.
Maybe those game industry competitors paid to hacking groups for cracking and emulators making to attack their competitors.
But they don't use this trick anymore.

PS3 and 3DS emulators still developing...very slowly...

I feel so nasty for cell phone games...

Its quite hard to do emulation for modern systems as their base specs are quite often quite high and quite often you need 10-20 times the speed to emulate the system if not more and also the actual low down specs are not available the PS3 uses a cell cpu which is very different from a intel chip so what could take 1 cpu tick on a ps3 could take a few hundred on an intel one

it probably would be easier to sort of decompile the game and recompile the resultant assembler but even then i'd doubt you'd see anything better than 10-20% performance without serious messing which spoils the idea of an emulator

PS3 is the only " specs are quite often quite high and quite often you need 10-20 times the speed to emulate the system" in your words...

Don't think WiiU/3SD/PSV are "specs quite often quite high".

Just had a look at the spec's of a 3ds and it has a dual core arm 11 along with a single core arm 9 cpu and 2 custom background processing cpu's so while it doesn't seem like an intensive system its probably a hard thing to emulate

It should be a arm 11( single core )+a arm 9 ( single core ).

Maxatoria is correct.
If the cpu being emulated is the x86 type the emulation can work quite well because very little conversion takes place, however when emulating a different structure it becomes very expensive in cpu cycles(ticks).

I have an emulator that I use so that I can rum mobile phone software on my pc. I have a quad core running at 4gig, with 8 gig of ram, and it takes about 5 minutes just to boot up an Android os on an arm configuration.

WHAT?
I use a quad core CPU with 8GB RAM , it takes about less than 1 minute to boot up an Android os(by Genymotion emulator) while the added too much addons firefox running.
(Did You added the download time of the OS?)

Get Mame and a ROMs set to match, all the old arcade classics from the 70/80/90s. Also available for Android devices and free if downloaded from the...cough cough, correct place.

Truth be told it's probably easier to emulate the PS4/Xbox One than their previous versions(PS3/Xbox360) considering their x86 architecture based(kind of). Need one hell of a rig all the same, 5-10 years away at best I imagine!

I don't know any arcade classic games ...

Don't you think emulators on PC are great things for reduce the large number of e-waste?

I'm not talking about the pc version!! That will work fast as its designed for the pc! I'm talking about true emulation.
