i was given a rather large 18" monitor from colege but when i got it home i found out that some bright spark had turned the brightness down and because it has only one large nob that you press to bring up the menu and turn to scrol the menu i cant see the menu to scrol and find the brightness settings.

i have looked in the back and cant find anything wrong with it and i need to know if there is a way of reseting the monitor to the factory sectings?

the monitor:
product no pk-986
proview electronics (taiwan)

mew, most screens have a 'degauss' option. It may be a button at the back or a click button in
settings. You mention it's an 18" screen. Are you sure your video/graphics card can handle it?
It's quite a large screen. Hope this helps.

errr...degauss have nothing to do with his gamma/color/contrast settings, its just a short "relax" for the monitor.
