Did you make friends from ATS?

Yes! I have met a few in person all over the State of Alaska. All have been very sincere, new friends, call each other when ATS has a good topic. It's a treat to have a ATS member/friend discussion without the computer, lol.

When I travel to ND, I'll have to meet up with some members for a few beers

I recommend using the ATS chat functionality to engage the ATS membership directly in a real time environment during any of the ATS Radio shows held throughout the week at regular timeslots.

Many of my ATS friends were gained in such a manner!

I got unwanted flirting from the chat room ,and seem not too much member active on there.

As I stated in my post ... one needs to target the ATS Radio time slots for when the most amount of members are in chat!

As for the flirting, well ATS keeps the chat logs for legal reasons and you can simply report that member for an infraction of the T&C's, specifically ...

Many people with different belief here ,I am not religious ,thus I want to know about the belief of that member before I start to talk ,a profile page would help a lot.

Wrote a post to complaint about that ,I mosaiced the name of that member with screen shots ,but mods moved it to trash bin.I think the definition of unwanted flirting are different by different person.It seem a bit off topic.

JSObecky and I used to talk all the time via EMAIL and we even exchanged a few gifts. (a couple of books). He passed away and I still miss him being on here.

I've given my email address to about 8 other people.
One I still keep in contact with on a fairly regular basis.
That one person has my home address. No one else. (that I can remember)

I had about 50 ATSers on my Facebook account as friends. But after the last mass shooting I decided to delete any and all ATS people from Facebook. In truth, I really don't know any of them and if it turns out that they are nutter-shooters or something, I really don't want my name associated .. ya' know?

I was the member that went to France with my wife to spend time with Rodinus and his family, I found a long lost soul mate, and they are now very much a part of our family.

There's some of us that all met in a thread going up to Scotland at the end of May to stay with another member for the weekend.

I'm sure firm friendships will be formed.

Beez is coming to England this year if plans go well, and we're going to meet up for a beer or 2 with luck, I have invites to the states as well which one day I'd like to take up.

Apart from that all my friends know they are more than welcome to visit me as well.

Unfortunately not. There used to be a good group of people here a couple of years ago who I regularly talked to by PM and debated with in discussions, people who I would have loved to have met in real life, but there was an influx of very vocal bigots who took the entire forum in a right wing direction.

The mods were failing to deal with quite a lot of hate speech and totally unacceptable behavior, I personally know of at least five people who stopped posting because of it.

I totally agree. I have been threatened with physical violence via u2u. Takes a brave man to threaten over the www.
However I love the down and dirty mud pit exchanges. I also remember a time on ATS where I respected and appreciated my opponents point of view; now as a labeled "people like you"; it's difficult to respect the namecalling hateful members that seem to flourish in the current environment.

I have yet to make a friend on ATS

Boss may send me there in GrasseyButte or Wiliston for awhile. Yeah, would love to hang with the Beezer. I got the 2nd

I will be leaving for TX tomorrow, and already arranged to meet some people from ATS, that I have had a friendship with, I think that this takes it to the next level, but being a member here, and having that in common leaves plenty to chat about, at least I know we wont be talking about anything dull

I feel like if i liked a person posting on a thread i may not be able to be fully able to expressive my true thoughts for fear of hurting or arguing with a friend.

This isnt facebook people!

+i dont mind having friendly people around me and being as friendly as i can back and i have a few fave poster, but if I actually talk to them with messages or add them it makes it kinda official

Some of my best debates, supporters of ideas, and help with knowledge have been those that I have interacted with outside of ATS, it took a lot of guts for all of us to do so, sure there are hits and misses, but thats with ANY situation.

I dont write as often but when I do, I have people that I have been close with the most, come in and tell me how it is, and its NEVER anything personal.
