No No ... Give ME in Control of the Entire Planet Instead!

I"m putting this forward as an alternate selection to the other ' put me in charge of the entire planet' post . See which you prefer.

- SECULAR rule of law for everyone. If you wish to impose religious rule of law on yourself .. the impose it on yourself, but the secular rule of law over rides all other laws.

- freedom OF religion and freedom FROM religion for the entire planet. Have any religious beliefs you want or don't want as long as they don't invade the space of others. That will take care of a lot of friction on the planet. The $$ spent on policing religious extremists who are now at war with everyone who worships differently from them could instead be used elsewhere ... like in education.

- Cut govt pork projects. The money can be used elsewhere ... like in education.
- Education is a top priority.
- Education for everyone ... male or female.
- School uniforms possible. Students learn better when not in competition with clothing.
- School lunches free of charge for students - yes, paid for by tax money.
- Health care is a top priority. Not forced purchase of gov't insurance .. but health care.
- No penalties for high earnings and no rewards for low earnings.
- Flat tax rate.
- Free elections and term limits.
- No death penalty except for extreme cases in which the safety of others requires it.
- Physician assisted suicide legal all around the world for any adult at any time they wish it.
- All law abiding adults have the right to bear arms. Period.
- Marriage equality. Don't interfere in what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own bedroom and their own home. Gay marriage doesn't hurt you.
- No charge for adoptions. Yes again - paid for by tax money.
- No slavery ... no human bondage .. no '2nd, 3rd, 4th wives' ... who are really slaves.

- Gov't issued condom dispensing machines on street corners. Low priced or even free. It's cheaper then our tax money going to pay for the upbringing of tons and tons of out-of-wedlock children to youngsters or to poor households. Free vasectomies and tubal ligations - yes paid for by tax money. It's cheaper for the tax payer than the alternative.

- Recycle. No biofuels. Air pollution control for everyone on the planet and not just for certain developed nations.

- No dolphin hunts and no whale hunts. Your culture 300 years ago may have thought this was great, but the world ecology needs to be balanced or we are all in trouble.

- REALITY TV SHOWS ... my one power grab indulgence would be to ban most of them

I would agree with that if everyone starts from 0, but since we have established people, poor will stay poor, rich will stay rich. So no i disagree with they idea. need a better solution to give everyone a chance.

Only if absolute evidence, no "eye witness", Jury or 2nd hand information.

I would disagree, only for the fact there are countries that have no arms and proven to have better lifestyle and society.

Sounds good, but I would prefer gender neutral school uniforms (everyone wears pants/shorts). I hate the concept of school uniforms, especially with girls (and I'm a woman myself, who has never had to wear a uniform).

The other thing that would be great is a fair distribution of food and medical amenities to those that need it.

kind of contradicting as you your self has said several times that you would not hesitate shooting people trespassing your property, is that an extrem case for you as a person in control?
To me it sounds like Judge Dredd which is death penalty on the spot, no jury,no justice, shoot first ask questions later.

I was particularly impressed the lack of executions under your regime.

Education a top priority, wow that's almost scarey in this day and age but let's give it a try!

I feel like elaborating on my post from the other thread:

Rulers should be selected randomly from the population and then screened for useful abilities in administering their region/community. It should be an unpaid job, and the mandate term should be very short, as not to allow for the person in office to get attached to their position, I'd say no longer than 3 months; less if they screw up. Also mayors, governors and presidents should be required to scrub their buildings' toilets at least once a month in order to exercise humility and strengthen their connection to the real world.

Still want to control the planet? That would require an awful lot of toilet scrubbing

One question.

Why control? To control something implies that you are master of something, you class yourself better than anyone else.

How about, working in coalition with the people for the people? It's a old political ideology, I appreciate that, but it is certainly something worth attaining.

We should have certain laws, that I understand. But these laws shouldn't impact on people making certain life choices, as our judicial system seem to be full of.

Pretty sound if you ask me, I like it.

On the point of school uniform, you would not believe the impact/difference having a uniform makes on learning and discipline.

Uniform is very important and not for the reasons you would believe, I have seen failing schools turned around on the basis of enforcing a uniform code, so for me I think it is important.

Oh and not just any old polo shirt and sweatshirt type uniform, it needs to be shirt, blazer and tie, in our local area a school which used to have a more formal uniform (tie etc) went downhill dramatically once the unifrom was altered to polo shirts and sweatshirts, fast forward to the last couple of years and the school has completely changed and is on the up, now that it has reverted back to s shirt and tie policy.

Moral of the story never underestimate the power of uniform.

Nope. BIG difference.

Shooting a criminal who comes on your property to do you harm ... that's self defense. Killing someone already in jail and who can't hurt you or anyone else anymore ... that's just killing.

Very true. And it also takes away the need that students feel to compete with each other with clothing. The poor kids and the rich kids will all have the same clothing. The poor kid with $20 sneakers wont' feel bad standing next to the rich kid with $200 sneakers. And no one will feel the need to go steal something to be able to afford the latest sneakers ... that kind of thing.

It's a class equalizer ... different incomes all wearing the same clothing ...

It really is a good thing for schools.
