Ok, here is a new one for all of those doom porners out there :

Ukrainian forces killed up to five pro-Moscow rebels on Thursday as they closed in on the separatists' military stronghold in the east, and Russia launched army drills near the border in response, raising fears its troops would invade.

Then the US Secretary of State John Kerry goes on to blab this out : "The window to change course is closing"

Day by day this conflict is becoming more and more worrying as the US continue to provoke Russia and Visa Versa...

Bloody hell... Why does the US Gvt (not the US citizen) have to poke their noses and stamp their boots into/on something YET AGAIN FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME that does not concern them at all... have they not got better things to do with their own people on US soil without fiddling with issues of other people???...

US Gvt (not the US citizen).. YOU ARE NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD SO STOP TRYING TO MAKE OUT AS IF YOU ARE... No-one is interested anymore in your arm waving, noise making and foot stamping like a spoilt brat...

My dear fellow members from the US... From a fellow member from the EU... please tell us other members from other countries... why did you people believe and vote for these warmongers? whether it be Bush before or Obama now?

The Ukraine is very important for the EU and USA, they build alot of stuff and have a pipeline for gas running right through their land.

Russia know this and are essentially poking the bear by this whole thing, im selfishly on the USA EU side because well i dont want things to get worse, but i do get why Russia wants it and is causing this instability.

However, what is worrying is that IF there is a military conflict concerning this situation, those on the doorstep of the EU are going to get it first whilst the USA sits comfortably at home observing and giving out orders to the poodles that are on their leash over here in the EU...

It really piddles me off... to know that on each side the two school bullies are having a serious sparring dig at each other and don't really care about what happens to those "in the middle when a few "punches" might go astray... so to speak

now that is some truth.

It really is just about two big bully's pushing around piggy in the middle.

Either can live without it but its a chip in a game of poker the states EU and Russia are throwing around like its nothing. Its actually a bit embarrassing. Using the little smart kid as a toy for their "we still hate you" agenda.

Foremost it's concerning because Russia has done... nothing to the EU.
They were and are a fair trading partner, no threats were issued whatsoever in all the years since the Soviet Union ceased to exist. But suddenly all things bubble up and "Russia is the evilist empire and enemy in the whole universe!!!" and threats are made from beyond the ocean. But why?
Because Russia wants a safety cordon around it's borders and especially Ukraine is important for them in trdes and culture.

I am still convinced that this would have gone far better, if our american "friends" in Washington hadn't interfered. After all Putin (Russia) wants a Pan-Eurasian Trade Union and the open trade pact betwenn Ukraine and the EU could have been the first step. And I think that this is somewhat the US doesn't want, because it means better trade between the EU and Russia and lesser trade between the US and EU.

So... to quote Ms. Nuland: "# the EU!" and that's what happening right now.

So Ukraine doesn't have the right to ask the international community for help and assistance against Russian aggression? Hardly fair Ukraine does to stand a chance against Russia.. It's no different to the bully in the school playground saying go away this has nothing to do to you, and then a little nerd saying yeah it's got nothing to do with you go away...

Guess what... NO we're not going away

The US UK and Russia all have duties to for fill in Ukraine after they signed the Budapest memorandum, Russia is clearly in breach of its contract

Everybody know Russia is aiding the small armed groups of pro Russian supporters they have Russian military issued kit and weapons, this is violating Ukraine national integrity in an attempt to use it as yet again another pretext for another annexation in yet more parts of Ukraine

People are forgetting what the vast majority of Ukraine and it's government wants and has wanted for some time

It's not about the EU

It's not about Russia

It's not about the US

It's about what the vast majority of Ukraine want and them alone without ANY interference deciding the path of there OWN future

If the UN wanted to save any face here they'd better pull there fingers out there arse and send in more observers and peacekeepers ASAP

Oh yeah, but Russia would VETO that wouldn't they... Time to be honest and truthful with yourselves and ask WHY?

Russia wants more than a safety cordon, they want to dictate to other countries what is right for Russia and not them

You can't just physically grab people on the street and say stay there and walk with me Incase this person hits me, what about that person? Do you think they have enjoyed the years of Russian and soviet abuse and want to be used as a safety cordon ?

NATO doesn't have anywhere near the build ups Russia does it has a defensive missile shield that it has offered countless time to work on WITH Russia, openly...

It's about Russian pride, nothing more, of Russia is willing to go to war over it pride then that's there mistake

exactly, Russia know how important that gas is to eastern Europe, they want to piss off the east and profit and its hard to really blame them for that if it wasnt for the people stuck in the middle of it.

Might be the first time I agree with you about something regarding Ukraine.

Sad thing is, we almost had a peaceful solution that would have been in the Ukrainian interests, including and orderly democratic process for the Ukrainian people (you know, to find out what exactly they actually want for their country), negotiated by the Weimar Triangle on the 20th of february... 2 freaking month ago(!!!), and everyone (even Putin) agreed on it ... and then suddenly things went bad.

What I do not understand is that you all have a whole bunch of people to vote for over there in the US before the elections... but always end up believing the crap that comes from the candidate with more money to spend on his campaign and then end up voting for him?

Absolutely.

I'm just glad the people here finally start to get it.
Look at the responses to Kerry's speech for example. Everything he said can be argued the other way around, and just reading the comment section on Tagesschau about this gives me a little bit of hope.
Doesn't matter much of course, if people elsewhere decide to set the world on fire.

a reply to: Rodinus I am in Canada but it's the same thing here ..we are given the choice as to who might be the lesser of evils .We have 4 political parties here and the Conservative party has a strong base and all the rest are split and so we end up with the Conservative's ...It's been very frustrating for the Majority of Canadians but there is nothing we can do ...It's their system and they control it . It's corrupt because it was designed to be .Just a bunch of Layers and Corporate people running the show .

The trick of Team 1 and Team 2 is still quite strong. Most Americans are probably still unaware that the media and 2 parties largely control elections. I voted against everyone who's been elected since voting age so, meh.. I thought for sure people would notice how rigged elections are in the media when Ron Paul was running.

The trick is to make people think their vote will get wasted. You keep the good ones down as much as possible and ridicule their names. You report that they will lose the election, and this becomes a self fufilling prophecy..

This will continue until people become more interested in their fate on this Earth. I think many Americans are still rich enough to not care beyond their small little world of job and friends. As long as that's cool they couldn't care less about anything else. Others work 60 hours a week and don't have time to care.

People wait to be told by the media what is happening when they should tell the media what is happening themselves.

I have a fix.. Make elections online your user name would be your full name and your password would be your social...
Have the votes in a database that all can see attached to individual numbers that are proof of your vote but not proof of who you are. Then you can go back and see that your vote was actually counted.



Trust me I am embarrassed to be American, and I have been since Bush.
