Just A quick thought about the moon landing. It's not what you do see that makes me think it might have been staged but what you don't see.

We have footage of the Earth from the moon (which is breath-taking) and we also have footage of the men walking on the surface.

My big question is why didn't the astronaughts get footage of themselves in the foreground with the Earth in the background? Not only would this have been the greatest footage ever shown, but it would have also have killed any chance of any calling it a hoax.

This may sound silly but I know that if I was up there with a camera it would have been the first shot I got.

Has anyone got any comments on this? Any reasons as to why a shot like this would not have been possible? Am I beeing dense?

I don't know, I'm willing to entertain the idea if you have evidence to back it up. Have you checked the entire photographic and videographic record of the mission?

I have always thought that the 'faked moon landing' thing was a provocative subject.

Lil hard to do.
Apart from obvious issues with angles there is glare. Have you ever taken a photo of a bright object in the dark and noticed the background dissapears. Well i suspect the glareish reflection of light of the space suit would have virtually blotted out the earth.

Possible, except there was backlighting which would have eliminated that effect.

They did.

You can see it on the shot of Gene Ciernan as well (it's the blurry thing on top)

There are better ones Byrd of Gene Cernan, where it is lower down and the earth is right above the flag...they are some awesome photos.

It's a shame we haven't done more with the moon but I was surprised by the startling realization when a friend told me "I'll be so disgusted if there was ever a big city on the moon, they'd have to put it on the back side".

I asked why and when he told me why, I realized he was right.

The moon has been a timeless thing. It has been the same in our great great great grand father's eyes, as it has been in ours.

It will be a shame when they carve half of it out to build resorts.
