Did a quick search, didn't see anything so I thought I'd post! The items on the list could fit in many different forums, so I put it in General chat.

Here are 10 discoveries unexplained by science by the Alltime10s channel on youtube, followed by links to read more about each phenomenon:

Links:

10.) The Taos Hum

9.) The Sea of Galilee

8.) Antikythera Mechanism

7.) Paleodictyon Nodosum

6.) Godzillus Fossil

5.) The Upsweep

4.) The Placebo Effect

3.) Dark Flow

2.) Kepler 78b

1.) The Naga Fireballs

Some of these have been talked individually on separate forums, but there were several I had never heard of, and I hope at least one of these piques your interest.

Have any of these been debunked / explained? Your thoughts?

The one that weirds me out are the Naga Fireballs. Interesting.

Has any one ever actually tried to see if it is staged for any reason. Wouldn't be to hard. Some fire works, it's a local tradition that attracts lots of tourists also.

I'm still trying to get my head around electricity. We know how to create it, how to harness it....but we still don't know why, when moving certain metals through a magnetic field it generates this energy called electricity. Even wikipedia defines it as a 'phenomena'.

These will be eventually explained in time.

Our brains probably can't comprehend their workings at this moment.

You & me both!! Having been an electrician for about 30 years I am still amazed at the concept of electrical current. Just look around at what electricity has done for mankind. Simply put, electricity is the sole reason behind our growth as a species. Without it, we would be in the dark.. no pun intended. One day, we will un-lock the mystery of electrical current. When we do the growth we will have will make the last 100 years look like the middle ages.

I see BLOOP is in the list with Upsweep!

I want to know if BLOOP is Godzilla as it is natural!

Also why are there no NEW recordings? Only what was recorded in the late 90's? Surely someTHING has made another anomalous noise we just have not had it released?

Thanks for sharing this! Excellent thread!

Two phenomena on your list have been an interest for me: the hum and the placebo effect.

The hum, a noise that only 2% of us can hear and it's not a recent phenomena: back in the '40s more than 2000 people in London reported hearing the hum. I can't find any earlier evidence and it makes think it may be caused by all the mining and fracking we have been doing for centuries.

The placebo effect: I work in the healthcare industry and I administer medication to patients, lots of medication. I personally believe we need to look at how our bodies can heal themselves in a holistic way, and the placebo effect confirms that: our bodies are incredible machines that self heal. Sometimes all patients need are a good healthy fresh diet and a bit of exercise, and that could lower their blood pressure and blood glucose....but most people prefer to take a little pill. The placebo effect is recognized by doctors and they know it's the power of the mind controlling the body...but they still don't know exactly how it works. I say positive thoughts become positive outcomes.

The Bloop or Upsweep how it is called here it gives me the bumps. All those thousands of kilometers of unknown, a dark world completely hidden from us. Who knows what kind of monsters are living there!
Nice list, I enjoyed reading it even if I knew about most of them. S&F

Not sure how Kepler-78b made the list, what's so unexplainable about a rocky exo-planet orbiting another star?

Seems pretty explained too me:

Two independent research teams then used ground-based telescopes to confirm and characterize Kepler-78b. To determine the planet's mass, the teams employed the radial velocity method to measure how much the gravitation tug of an orbiting planet causes its star to wobble.

Kepler, on the other hand, determines the size or radius of a planet by the amount of starlight blocked when it passes in front of its host star. A handful of planets the size or mass of Earth have been discovered. Kepler-78b is the first to have both a measured mass and size.

With both quantities known, scientists can calculate a density and determine what the planet is made of. Kepler-78b is 1.2 times the size of Earth and 1.7 times more massive, resulting in a density that is the same as Earth's. This suggests that Kepler-78b is also made primarily of rock and iron. Its star is slightly smaller and less massive than the sun and is located about 400 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cygnus.

I dont know about our brains not comprehending, at least in all the cases (bloop, etc).

But I absolutely agree: "supernatural" is just another term for "natural that we don't understand yet".

What i meant is that, we kinda lack some knowledge in order to under some of these things, so they seem supernatural to us or beyond comprehending with the current understandings.

I mean, many things were "super natural" to us, 1000 of years ago, now it is just science.
