If I'm skint, I don't kick the neighbours (or anyone else's) doors in and take their s**t

You would be surprised how many people want to do exactly that, especially if the government does the door kicking. That is what our welfare state is--theft by government.

However, the suggestion that the "West has made it's attempt at bringing the whole globe under its dominion and singularly failed" is something that is offensive, and very inaccurate.

it is very accurate and sorry if the truth hurts.

rickynews
Let's face it, the 'West" is code for The United States, who has been a beacon of hope and freedom across the globe for the past Century.

Are you joking or can I have some of that stuff you are smoking.

As big as you are the west does not just mean the USA it's Europe too and "freedom" is not something you get from the USA.

I even read that in some states you are not even free to collect the rain water that falls from the sky and in other places you cannot smoke in your own home whilst giving home grown vegitables to someone will get the police kicking in your door and selling none steralized milk to people that want to buy it becomes a terrorist act of war.

So free that you cannot even deal with the crimals that pull off 9/11 because they are not only above the law but are the law.

Can you not see why Russians are not rioting to join you and the people in the Crimea all ran the other way at the thought of this "freedom" because I can

The 'West" is the only reason you and I are not living in a world dominated by Nazi's, or Communists,...lest we forget.

Let's be honest dude, we have no idea of the specs of that bird.....Or even if there ever was one.

All I want is to see an end to all this warmongering.....It's utterly ridiculous!

It's like we've suddenly become blind to all the lessons of history. Sure the oil's running out, big deal, if we (collectively) devoted half as much effort to developing alternative technologies as we do to squabbling over the remaining resources, we'd have a solution in a decade.

Remember the people driving this are interested in short term profits only, they don't care what happens down the line, it's all about quick profit now, for them.....And we've all quietly fallen into line, we've completely confused profit with progress.

I know this has rather drifted off topic, but I think it is pertinent to the thread, as these are the very forces driving the confrontation we see in the Ukraine region.

Hugely oversimplistic, but I'll acknowledge the sentiment in which it's made.....Lest we forget!

100 years ago now, things went totally pear-shaped in Europe.....I'd rather we didn't have too many 'fireworks' for the centenary.

The sovereign people of Ukraine have an absolute right to self-determination, and self-government. This is the crux of the whole crisis in Ukraine. Who is Russia to deny these good people their right ?

Yes agree with most you say but it's not duty that makes them salute a flag pole, its fear of what happens if you don't and this is taken far too far on US military bases in Europe that even the locals are intimidates into playing along, yes I had to freeze on the spot too.

"One good thing we did for Germany in the post war period was to forbid former Nazis from having positions of power"

Yes only because of paper-clip, you shipped them off to work for the CIA.

I have picked up a few signs of big Russian money creeping into Europe to be spent on propertry too and that is just one more reason that Europe is not quite as happy about the USA poking it's nose in where it's not wanted but in this case its all for the wrong reason.

So would you agree that Germany and Russia was getting too freindly for comfort and maybe what we are seeing is an attempt by the USA to end this little relationship.

1. Because the Fencer is still a decent recon platform with good EW sensors added in external pods. Russia doesn't have an operational stealth aircraft they could have used.

2. Where else would they? It's not like US ships sail into Russian waters so they can there.

This has been happening for almost 50 years. Sane things, same aircraft for many of those years. It's nothing new, and it's not the start of a war.

Yes but what we have today is looking more like Germany in 1930's every day.

"The sovereign people of Ukraine have an absolute right to self-determination, and self-government. This is the crux of the whole crisis in Ukraine. Who is Russia to deny these good people their right ?"

Did you mix up names here.

Russian wants the people of the Ukraine to have a vote and it is the USA that is blocking it because its puppet might not win.

The bloody Coup was finance by the west and cost lots of money, a vote will un do the coup and waste all that money so I am with you 100% on "these good people their right" Yes a right to vote.

Now you might think that you know which side will win but lets face it you was most likly conviced that everyone in the Ukraine hated Russia last month and if it so many people are with the nazi party that took over then why has a vote not been rushed throught by the USA to ligitamize the new government.

To be fair that video is about the most extreme example of saluting the colours you are ever going to see....Cool though!

Please understand that I'm not criticising the US Military, rather those who are behind those giving them such insane orders.....I'm an armour modeller and wargamer, so it would be pretty hard for me not to appreciate the bravery and commitment of the US military. Equally though I am fully aware of the vast potential within Russia, the analogy with a bear is very apt, most of the time it's either asleep or generally pretty peaceful, but they're a bit greedy and they will poach your salmon (or have your trashcans if you leave 'em out). However poke 'em with a stick at your peril, especially over that salmon or worse, one of their cubs.

The crisis in Ukraine originated from the people of Ukraine uniting and protesting the then President of Ukraine, ( who clearly was a Communist Russian puppet), and his defiance to comply with the Will of the people, as he attempted to align with the Russian Federation economically, rather than the People's will and desire to economically join the free European Union. Such action, against the will of the people of Ukraine, is the definition of Oppression.

Definition of Oppression:
1.the exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner.
2.an act or instance of oppressing.
3.the state of being oppressed.
4.the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety, etc.

Let Freedom Reign.

"I've been to Russia in the last year (ancestral homeland). Security is just as bad and you meet dicks in uniforms all of the time--at least they still take bribes though. "

Well you beat me on that one, been very close but no I've never been.

"You don't seriously believe that Russia is a real democracy and is not ruled by oligarchs who want to turn a profit or control the country?"

Well lets me answer by saying that Russia seems to be moving in the right direction whilst the USA is moving in the other direction so looking forwards I would edge my bets on Russia.

Met Russian military personal and they scared the $hit out of us and also american personal who had this habbit of stopping what they were doing twice a day to salute a flag and they looked scared to death incase they past wind whilst a tune was played out over the speaker system.

ten on ten ! Again I would edge my bets on Russia

Cydonia2012

This free money you talk about comes with far to many strings attached and I would think that the USA could do with all that money itself to cut the worlds bigest prison rate down to size where old people comit crime to do time just so they can get some medical treatment.

Our puppets are the only ones that get to see this free money that you have to stump up from your taxes and maybe you can tell me how $4bn spent in the Ukraine has helped any of the working class people and then I might be able to say why people bite the hand that feeds it

edit on 15-4-2014 by VirusGuard because: Just took my sock off

Please explain to me what these "many strings attached" are.... I never said its "free money" and I assure you your puppets are not the only ones benefiting from it. To simplify it, if the US wasn't "helping" all of Europe would probably be speaking German or Russian by now.

Yes I can agree tbat Russian had a puppet in power but the downfall came because of the economic conditions and he was in the process of making concessions but then the right was told to attack why he was at his weakest.

Should we too pick up guns as the tide turns against Obama too ?

The Ukraine has been squeling like a pig just to get $1bn aid from the USA and all it has got so far is a loan guarantee but the point is that the USA spends $3bn a day on it's war machine, it's peanuts and is trying to squease the people of the Ukraine by the balls whilst at the same time milking tax payers at home by provoking a war so that the jewish owned military manufactures in the USA can rake in a fortune.

Peace is not part of the plan for now untill they push it too far.

Yes we both know our history but it was the bankers in Germany that sowed the seeds in the early 1930 where you need to take a wheel barrow to buy a loaf of bread and the only thing that dragged the USA out of the depression was the war.

Bankers are behind this war too.

Is that what you say each time you loose a war ?

I dunno, Saddam is fertilizing desert daisies and his worlds 4th largest army was turned to Russian made scrap metal.

Why invaded in the first place because killing people will only make them hate you more.

Tell yourself that each and every time you fire up a lawnmower, drive to work etc...

Maybe if your Democracy was not rules by bankers then just maybe some places that the USA invades would actualy welcome the intervention

Remind us all which little slice of heaven of a country you live in again?

Slayer now i respect you on these boards for your knowledge, however your stance on the U.S and these wars has made me not a fan. But that dose not matter . What matters is that fact that you seriously believe the U.S solders were fighting for the Our freedoms and and to free Iraq from an oppressive regime.

Truth is the U.S was never endanger , and freedoms were never jeopardized (maybe by our own government) the only freedoms they were fighting for was the expansion of U.S companies.. And agenda ..

And if you can't believe that then please convince my brother a 3 time war vet ,who's tried to take his life two times now Because he cant cope with the truths of this war and feels awful ,EVERYDAY!

Your also welcome to speak at his vet meetings and convince the rest that they were fighting for a great cause..
