My support will always go the the US because of the troops our families and friends that serve. That being said the majority of the USA's citizens are isolated and believe everything the government tells them. I have traveled throughout the world and the scary picture the government draws if other countries is clearly propaganda, We have all been conditioned at some point or another to believe that countries that don't follow the same ideologies of democracy are tyrannical waste lands. The governments of both the US and Russia are not looking out for the best interests of its citizens. The pissing contest is ongoing and i fear both Putin and Obama will not sacrifice face in dealing with this situation. I pray that this continues at a snails pace in escalation until we can elect someone with a fair bit more diplomatic tact and stern posture. Its only a matter of time at the rate we are going that not only Russia but others that hate our way of like realize Obama has a really small penis.

No one hates your way of life as long as you keep it for yourself. But you are trying to force your values to the rest of the world. That is where the problem is. If there is an official list of the most hated countries in the world I am quite sure you would be at the very top.
It has nothing to do with jelaousy, I could not care less about US but somehow you care way to much what the rest of world should do. Ukraine is the latest example of your dirty deeds.
And as for your president I doubt he even has a penis.

Yes, our President does not have a penis. As for the rest of the world, they hate us but still beg for money and help, so what are you going to do? I'd rather us get out of being the world police, cut off international aid to ungrateful and hostile peoples, and not lift a finger the next time some disaster strikes somewhere. It would save us a lot of money. But, guess what, the first time we don't rush in to help starving, earthquake, tsunami, or volcano victims, we'll be hated and called selfish. We can't win with that sort of mentality.

You bring more damage than good to this world. Fact.
It would be a great thing if you close your door and clean up your own mess, bankers, debt, violence, instead of playing Captain Murica all around the world. But hey we both now it is not possible as you do not own your country anymore, for a long time now.
Once upon a time it was something like this 'the land of free, the land of brave' and now we have 'the land of brainwashed zombies
ruled by corporate fascist'.

No mountain out of a mole hill.
To be buzzed like that is an act of aggressiveness.
And just not a good idea because the potential is there for being fired upon.

That was a bad move by the Russians.

Says who?

Says the U.S. Military.

Iraq, Afghanistan at all?

Hypocrite!

Those two are still and will remain sovereign countries. The US hasn't attempted nor will it permanently abscond with any part or whole of their said sovereign territory.

"American military personnel are not bloodthirsty maniacs or Dr. Strangelove caricatures. By and large we are intelligent, calm, dedicated professionals."

Yes and were too even when killing off the american indians.

Since the end of the second world war the USA has spent ten times more money on the militay than everyone else put togeather and the only shadow on that record is that the USA has killed 20 times as many people in other peoples bit of the world than anyone else.

During WWII the saying went that when the British bombed the Germans ducked, when the germans bombed the british ducked but when the americans bombed everyone ducked.

Vets in your country are being treated as terrorists when asking for medical help whilst at the same time the USA is invading everyone and has long outstayed its welcome in Europe so I agree with your call for Americans to return home and to start getting its priorities right.

FYI I have worked on many american bases in Europe, cost is no object and I did my duty to soak it up.

You think you've 'taken' Afghanistan.....OK mate, I challenge you to walk down a street in Kabul saying that out loud in Pashtun.....Go on, I f**king dare you!

You being from Austrailia (I suspect), I would hope that you would be supportive of your U.S. Ally and friend, since there are very close ties between our nations.

Reading isn't your strong point is it mate?

I'm from your ally the UK.....And like many people in this country I was not at all supportive of my country getting involved in trumped up US led wars in, of all places, Afghanistan & Iraq (we have history in both).

Now that our troops are there, I support them as best I can, by trying to get them brought home.....Unlike our government, I consider British troops to be a precious resource, not one to be squandered on a whim for the exclusive benefit of a tiny financial elite.

I genuinely sympathise with your position NavyDoc.....But the problem is that you imagine going back to an isolationism that did not ever really exist. Read some of Smedley Butler's work.....The US was still the biggest bully on the block, even when it wasn't.

Smedley Butler - War Is A Racket (.pdf)

Like I said. I don't want us to be the world police. I also want to stop all foreign aid to everyone.

You see, WWII alone makes this an untrue statement.

However, I agree, I don't want us to be the world police. However, I also realize, having been around the world more than one occasion and have read quite a bit of history, the instant that a volcano erupts or an earthquake happens or someone invades their neighbor, there will be a clamor for the US to "do something." Yes, we do have our problems as a nation, but there is indeed Hell of a lot of hypocrisy in the "go home evil USA" types as well.

AS for the American Indians thing, I could easily point to wrong doings by your country hundreds of years ago. Are you a Brit? What about the Irish? The Scots? Virtual enslavement of the India? Are you a Digger? What about the aborigines? German--well there's not much to be said about them, that's pretty obvious.

The point is that no country is blemish less if you look at it's past and it's rather stupid to point out hundred(s) year old atrocities and try to extrapolate them to people living in the here and now.

US Aid isn't what you think.....It comes with certain 'strings' attached.

Please read up on these things.....If you haven't read Butler please do so. As a double Medal of Honour winner, his commentary on his chosen profession should at least merit your consideration.

He may in fact have saved the US from a previous attempted takeover by fascist forces, if enough people become aware of what he actually wrote, he might yet save you again:

Is that what you say each time you loose a war ?

Why invaded in the first place because killing people will only make them hate you more.

Now I want to know why did the USA waste man power on killing that guy that was camped out in the middle of no were when they could have sent a drone to act as judge, jury and excutioner as they are doing all over the world.

Maybe if your Democracy was not rules by bankers then just maybe some places that the USA invades would actualy welcome the intervention.

Lol at word 'sovereign'. Well you bombed those sovereign countries and some more to stone age, killed tens of thousands of innocent civilians, left a total mess and went home to attend 'welcome home our heroes' parades. Actually I believe there are still some units looking for WMD in Iraq and some units protecting poppy seed fields in Afghanistan.

That's a rather arrogant assumption on your part.....Once again you are projecting your thinking and lifestyle onto others.

Insatiable greed is not an excuse.....Just take a look at the US population, what's the obesity rate at now? You are literally eating the world!

Then there's your cars.....Oh man!

I dunno, Saddam is fertilizing desert daisies and his worlds 4th largest army was turned to Russian made scrap metal.

I'm reading several Pro-Russian, Anti-U.S. posts that seem to have a "bravado" tone to them in terms of suggesting somehow that Russia has superior military power over the U.S.
I suspect some, if not many of these suggestions, are originating from Russia or other anti-U.S. factions in Europe.

In any case, the notion that Russia is in any way superior to the U.S. Military (or otherwise) is complete non-sense, and borders on laughable.

The power of the U.S. Military is incredible. There is no military in the world that even comes close to the capabilities of the U.S. Army, Navy, Airforce, and Marines, and the superior technology available to them. This isn't opinion, rather it is fact, as any credible and Independent Global Military Analyst would confirm.

The U.S. Is the only Super-power, and just as President Obama stated, Russia is but a Regional Power. I sincerely hope, for their sake, that Russia refrains from any further provacative acts, otherwise the U.S. Military will indeed respond at some point, and will defend itself from an attack, or potential or perceived threat of attack, and such U.S. reponse will Not turn out well for Russia.

If Russia believes that further military provocations will send the U.S. Naval Ships or Fleet back or out of the Black Sea and Region, they are sadly mistaken.

Like it or not, the U.S. Naval fleet is in the Black Sea to stay, at least for a good long while, and they will continue to serve as a deterrent from further Russian aggression in the region, especially directed or carried out towards any NATO allies of the U.S.

.

None of that military might will matter one iota if there is a miscalculation and it results in a full nuclear exchange between Russia and the US. Because there won't be anyone alive to debate who has the bigger force. And trust me, it COULD happen. And the Russian nuclear arsenal is no way laughable, unless it's a fool doing the laughing. Neither is ours for that matter. Combine the two and the world goes up in flames. I for one would one would like to see that avoided.

Very well said sir.....If we can avoid adding to the overall 'blemish' total in the next few years it would be a very good thing.

The way I see it is simple.....The West has made it's attempt at bringing the whole globe under its dominion and singularly failed.

The cost of this attempt has been so enormous that our own economies are in imminent danger of imploding. This problem has been exacerbated by the actions of the financial elite, quietly defrauding us while we were distracted by 'terrorists' or now just plain old Russians (again).

IMHO our collective efforts would be much better spent rebuilding our economies on a more equitable and sustainable model.....Without financial elites. (Didn't Jesus have something to say about those BTW?)

WWIII will profit no one.

Yes I can agree with all of that and yes I know my history but today it is the USA thats doing the wrongs and this places the world at risk when picking a fight with a nuclear power like Russia and what makes it worse is that Russia IMHO is not in the wrong here.

Now if the USA wants a fight with Russia then there is not much that I can do about it but I don't want this war in my back garden when it's not us that has started the fight this time.

I've visited the USA several times over the years and it has gone from an OK type of place to a place of fear that begins as soon as a visitor approches customs control to be interigrated by some under paid dick who hates anyone earning more than $5 an hour ! its so sad to see what the place has become and I myself would prefure some russian democracy to whats on offer from across the pond.

Even Ron Paul went public and told the world that the USA had spent $4bn in the Ukraine so as an american tax payer I would like to know if anyone asked you to vote on how your collective hard earned cash was spent abroad.

I've already read "War is a Racket." My dad was a John Birch Society Member and I first read it as a kid. I'm quite aware of these positions from the likely (people with wealth and influence get politicians to do things that make them more wealthy) to the ludicrous (reptilians run the NWO to make us space food for satan).

If there are strings attached to the aid, then don't take it.

I recall one of the detractors (I've lost track of whom) said he worked in US bases all over Europe. One decries US imperialism wile at the same time profiting from said imperialism? That's a bit of a hypocritical stance, isn't it?
