So is it not a question of freedom anymore, but more a question of how much we are individually willing to sacrifice for that feeling of being free. - See more at: www.abovetopsecret.com...

How What do you believe are the top.....3-5 sacrifices people are willing to make?
We sacrifice freedom of...for...:
1. Speech for being left alone, not harassed
2. Education for Money
3. Religion for Control (not intend to offend, but there are some krazy cults out there using religion)

Regards,

I would add, so long as you physically don't hurt anybody else. Our rights end where other people's rights begin. I say physically because words can be used to hurt others. However, it is too impractical to codify the right not to be offended.

I am a firm believer in free speech, but I also believe yelling fire in a loaded theater is reckless and dangerous.

Education should be paramount. If we don't teach our children to better themselves then what's the point. The american system is failing in this one. Education should be near the top in government spending.

Healthcare should be right, not a privilege but I am in NO WAY advocating what is going on now in the US as the correct method or path!

Religion should be free but it isn't. As long as people have 'beliefs' they will die for them. Others will use it for control, war, profit, etc.
************************************************************************************************************************
As for the sacrificing question, that's tough we are all different. There are some issues that matter more to some and less to others.
As for me I wouldn't give up anything, I never follow the rules anyway!

In America, there's a private company known as the Federal Reserve that's FREE to print themselves FREE money. This should clearly illustrate that America is a FREE country.

I think it was Winston Churchill who said (paraphrasing) "America has the worst form of government, until you compare it to the rest of the world."

That is a lot of paraphrasing, dear Beezzer.

"No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government, except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time."
- Churchill, 11.11.1947.

What is it with you people?
Seems like either everything is great, or everything is crap about your nation. And they say Germans are always black&white...

This country was burned to ashes. Twice. And we still rebuild, and we're still here, and we're stronger.
Your mighty empire is shaking a little for once... and everything is lost?

It may look grim right now, but the United States of America once used to be great indeed.
Not only freedom, but enthusiasm and passion were regarded American virtues. Remember!
Your Government is one thing... but the American people are still capable of greatness.

Of course. Unless you were Black or Native American. They seem to remember the "freedom" very differently than you. Their "freedom" includes Genocide, Slavery and decades of oppression. Your freedom includes a campaign of genocide, owning slaves, and oppressing the Blacks and Native Americans
