The United States of America. A country founded by colonists who were seeking a place to be free to worship in whatever kind of church they wished. To be free from Britian's way. It grew into a place that became an example for the rest of the world. A place that was to show the world that democracy works and government is to serve the people. even the the name, United States of America was an inspiration to anyone wishing to become more than a government allowed them to be. A place without gestapo and a place that was the very definition of progress.

Was being the key word.

I love this country. i know there are places that writing that last paragraph would have the neighbors avoid you before they report you. I do consider myself very lucky I want it on record that i love this country and firmly believe in the ideas it was found might not be a flag waiving zealot, but I do take some pride in being American.

That said...

There are some things that make me sad about how this great country has let it's people down. Economic issues aside, can you count on government to help you if you really needed it? More and more, I am finding it's the opposite. Those of you who are familiar with my other posts, I have been having a difficult time with the last couple of years. I know what i saw and what my experiences are. And for me, the right thing to do is to tell people. For a few reasons. I don't know what exactly i am dealing with and want some insight or even better to open dialog that benefits everyone. Also, if things aren't as friendly as they seem, then it's right that i should let people know. I might not have the yankee doodle dandy ring tone, but I am not a traitor to this country. Or this planet, if that is the case.

i have gone to the police, they refused to even take a report. Went to the Army. I accused of making terrorist threats and almost arrested because it's a crime to go to a military installation and saying such things and to never come back. Nevermind i am trying to do the right thing. Nevermind that clouds were converging to the point right above us and he refused to even look. The media hung up once I said possible extraterrestrials.

This makes me sad. Not because I can't handle ridicule. I knew what i was getting into when I opened myself up for it. I know it seems nuts. But i also realize that, if something outlandish were to happen and one of this country's citizens wanted help to understand why this is happening to him? Help wont come. They don't want to help you. If you to them with goodwill, they will respond with immediate and methodical "covert" action. You try to do the right thing and get help and they will send people to destroy you. All the while saying they don't do that kind of thng.

I don't need a psychiatrist. I am not delusional. I have tried and tried to do the right thing and no one wants to hear it. I even tried it their way and "got help." All I got was pills, people still following me and the "delusions" don't go away.

There is a reason the pills aren't working. Because it's not a dilusion. It is something unknown and those who serve the people have no interest in actually helping me.

Didn't you already start a thread about this?

You could have just edited your OP on the other thread...

That aside, here's what I added to the other thread. But before posting that, I'd like to say that you aren't alone in your line of thinking, and there are lots of other people in various countries around the world (some of whom I know personally) who feel the same about their home nation - that it's 'going to pot', and when crimes by government are reported they are laughed at or treated like imbeciles....

From the other thread.
Perhaps it isn't about the "United States of America", perhaps it is about the idea behind it.

What do I mean by this?

Well, the USA is simply a collection of lines drawn on a map. Nothing more. In the same way that hockey fans of one team may despise others at match time, it is all just a collection of ideas. We put our faith in an imaginary thing.

The fans of that hockey team (let's call them the A-team) assume that theirs is the better team. However, the B-team fans say that their team is better. You can be assured that fans of both teams will have all sorts of theories about what makes their team the best, but what it all comes down to are the people that make up that team.

The United States isn't the only "free country". In fact there are plenty of "free" countries in the world. I have friends in Australia who are quite happy to say they live in the "free world". The IDEA of the USA being the centre of the free world, is a little misguided. Certainly there are people in the US who would have you believe that the President is about to declare Martial Law and have everyone rounded up into FEMA camps. Others would argue the total opposite.

But, back up a little... these are just like the fans of the A-team and B-team. Their views are subjective. They have arrived at their conclusions as a result of peer influence, biased opinions, (possibly) bigotry, and a million other reasons besides.

Perhaps it isn't about the idea of the United States at all. What if it was simply time to acknowledge that as delcared in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, that we are all "born free and equal" wherever we are. That our choices reflect our circumstances, that by staying silent and doing nothing warlords can roam free to kill indiscriminately or that by actively participating in our communities we really can feed and clothe the poor or homeless - regardless of what flag flies overhead.

Perhaps I'm generalising too much, and being a bit too utopian for this time of night. Who knows...

I just wanted to add my thoughts on an interesting topic. - See more at: www.abovetopsecret.com...

It sounds like one of your problems is that you are a boat rocker. In this big, complex crazy world people are flat out just dealing with there own stuff, they do not want to hear about problems that they cannot do anything about. One tip for dealing with seemingly insurmountable issues is to just start on a smaller piece of it. If you try and fix everything you will just spread your resources and capabilities too thin, just making more stress for yourself. If you can just focus and fix one small part of it then you are achieving something real and making a difference.

Wrong.
The colonies where established as business enterprises. As pure and simple as that. James Town was i believe established for the reason you give, but no others.

Good points, and I agree. But that is another post altogether. I personally hope for the best, but understand how likely the worst will become. And that's what we are destined to do. We live in the Age of Chaos. In order for balance and -- well, order -- to come, we need to burn out. The world is too caught up and a global catastrophy -- something that makes money irrelevant -- looks like it might be the only way people will think differently. This also makes me sad because I would like to believe society a better place and The United States what i was raised to firmly believe it was. Because for years I said the pledge of alligance every morning. And even still it sticks with me. I see things like government corruption and drones spying on American citizens and I feel let down. Especially now that I regularly am followed by white the infamous white vehicles with dark windows. I feel bullied and don't even know exactly why because they make it that way. It could be for associating with someone on their s--- list or something you did personally. Or anything in between.

I hear what you are saying. A sound plan, but no one will tell me what boat i was on. I DID get a rather large, football player type, pounding on my door one morning to give me a pamphlet about Jesus. He just handed it to me and said to hanve a good day. He walks away but turns to me and says, "It'd be good for you to go on that Sunday." Maybe that was my chance and I missed it. I figured i was just being paranoid and read too much into it. And having gone to church a good portion of my childhood, I already know about Jesus. Thinking about it now, i am slightly amused.
