An AMA request, getting a climate scientist on ATS

....or, after the AMA is over, a two-person closed thread debate between two opposing climate scientists.

As for debates, wasn't there talk and an agreement between the participants to have a closed-thread debate between Stanton Friedman and Jim Oberg? Waiting with unpopped popcorn for that one!

I appreciate you looking into both a climate scientist and an economist.

Regardless of the "assigning of blame" in the climate change argument, and the association with a particular political view or personage, climate change is very serious - to strip away the politics and blame and get to solutions would be extremely helpful in moving out of the "is it happening or not" phase.

As to the economist, well, that's tougher. Who do you get? A supply-side person? Trickle down? Middle-out? It's so tied into political beliefs that it becomes a left/right argument rather than who is doing the best math and projections based on facts. I do not envy you making that decision!

Not sure what kind of credentials you're looking for, or what you will accept - but if nothing else this will be presented in a way that will be easy to digest

And, oh yes - it is biased - no getting around that

But - there will be genuine scientists and science involved

And concerned, latte drinking activist celebrities - for sure

Do you just need a graceful way to save face and join the ranks of people who are on board and are working in whatever way they can to ward off the worst of this? Why do you need your hand held beeze? Is just one genuine bona fide scientist what it takes to change your mind? There's bunches out there...
