Now, I am all for 'do NOT walk with a weapon' towards officers but this seems, even to me, a bit excessive.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Jeff Sevigney said Corkery stepped outside the house, armed with a handgun, and that's when police ordered him to drop the weapon and surrender. He refused.

I do not see him pointing a weapon in the video.

Seems there was a person wanted in multiple crimes in the home. The officers try to get him to come out. Tell him they are waiting on a warrant to enter the home. When he does leave the home, as soon as he steps outside, he is shot dead from multiple weapons.

This is unedited video..NSFW language...

Unedited Video

Four seconds out the door and he is shot dead. The front of the house shows 14 separate bullet impacts that were marked by detectives as part of the shooting investigation.

Excessive and to the point of the officers, dangerous to fire that many rounds in a residential area.

No idea why that guy walked out of the house armed. Looks like a classic case of 'suicide by cop.'

This guy knew he was going to jail. I can't believe they waited to open fire on him as long as they did. He could have raised that weapon in a fraction of a second and taken a cop or two with him.

The video I saw is not clear enough to see the suspect when he exited. So for all I know he had a real light saber in his hand. If the cops were in the wrong then damn them. But what I saw was unconclusive.

There's at least 8 cops, most with what appear to be rifles, all with cover/concealment behind police-cars, against one guy who walks out with something in his hand, down at his side. That barrage of fire seems chicken# to me.

He literally took 3 steps out the door and didn't raise his "gun." The cops didn't even finish screaming at him before he was already shot up and on the ground. In my opinion this is an excessive use of force. Once that gun gets raised...then you shoot, not before.

I may be wrong, but didn't cops use to do everything to preserve the life of the person they were apprehending; urging the suspect to surrender without a fight; shooting only to preserve their life or another"s? Certainly on TV it was, "Stop or I'll shoot! *fires in the air**points gun at suspects back**hesitates**lowers gun*

At war, In the US army, if you were to do this, you would spend a very LONG time in prison

Lol. Never mind the show trials for public consumption. In today's army, if you were to do this, they would put you in charge.

Never forget, we are talking about a gangster government that has used missile drones to kill entire wedding parties, boys picking up firewood and a 68-year-old grandmother. We are talking about real state-terrorism where drones are used to murder someone -- and then launch a separate attack on the first responders and/or funerals.

The only real terrorist in this equation ...... is us. WTF is it gonna take to wake up our citizenry?
