Alien Abduction movie.(Brown Mountain Lights)

Just found this new movie based on a real (apparently) event.




So it looks a little Blair Witchy but I can handle that.

Now the reason I put it here instead of the movie section is does anyone know more about the Brown Mountain Lights? I have read a wiki page on it but doesn't really add to anything.
So anyone been there before or seen owt?

No I have not heard that term before, Brown Mountain Lights.

Looking forward to seeing it !

I am saving this so I can keep an eye on the movies release.
Says it will be in theaters April 4th.

I would not watch this movie, but I know about the Brown Mountain Lights... even though I think the Hessdalen Lights are way better documented and interesting

Ya never heard of the "true story" before...good find...and always leave it to the redneck with a shotgun to stop all aliens from further pursuits.....

YUp Brown Mountain Lights is a real thing in my neck of the woods, noones ever gotten close to em, and as far as I know, noones ever been abducted off the mountain.

The Brown Mountain lights are just like the Marfa Lights phenomenon here in Texas!

I went down there for a long weekend and was able to see them. It's CRAZY.

The balls of light appear out of nowhere, they split apart, change colors, sometimes rejoin. We had a heat sensor and some night vision goggles with us, and using the heat sensor you could pick up a signature, then use the night vision goggles to find that signature, and you'd see ones that were not visible to the naked eye.

I wonder where else in the world this phenomenon exists? The Marfa lights were recorded historically before automobiles. How far do these locations date back with this? Hmmm....

Can't wait to see that film!

wow, very interesting indeed! i would love to drive down to north Carolina and see them for myself but that's kind of a far drive from new york. i'm wondering if there are any similar spots here in my state, perhaps upstate ny where you can go and see similar phenomena as i have heard or similar sights in quite a few places across the US. I wonder what draws them to these places? A thought that crossed my mind was all the stories about Deep Underground Military Bases. A lot of talk of d.u.m.b.s being placed in mountains. perhaps the brown mountain are one example. us testing reverse engineered craft, ET looking for their brother and sisters? who knows

i wonder what the debunker explanation for these are? "oh, it's just people in the woods with flashlights" or some other such similar junk.

the movie does appear to be a little blair witchey but definitely has a better budget etc. think i'll definitely give it a watch, whether or not i pay to see it, that's a different story. lol

The Brown Mountain Lights are a very old phenomenon that, according to legend, stretch back to the days when Native Americans were the main population in the area. As far back as the 1770's they were investigated by a German Engineer who was one of the first white explorers in the area.

There aren't a lot of reports about bad things happening around them that I'm aware of, though I'm not an expert on this topic. I have not heard of it in association with aliens or abductions, either, so that one is new to me.

I would HIGHLY suspect the movie as being filled with a bunch of sensationalized and overly intensified fiction. It is actually considered a tourist attraction! What IS true is that this phenomenon has been actively studied, scientifically, and no one has yet solved the mystery of The Brown Mountain Lights.

During the early 1900s, the mysterious lights were thought to be aliens, and Brown Mountain was even featured in an American pulp magazine, The Argosy, telling people to go see the UFOs at Brown Mountain.

The lights have been reported as being white, red, yellow, orange and blue. They've been described looking like large balls of fire to small candle lights and from floating near the ground to rising up high into the sky.

Ugh, this looks bad. Why take a story that is interesting enough by itself and make it into another one of these sci-fi horror/abduction movies. (I'm looking at you Skinwalker Ranch)

I actually witnessed the lights a few years ago from Wiseman's Overlook. My brother and I watched the lights for hours with both our naked eyes and through a Yukon Digital Ranger 5x42. I wish I had taken my PVR and recorded some of the footage.

I still can't explain some of the sightings we had that night.

I will watch the movie because of the great info you guys have given me and it really has peaked my interest.
So the dudes who lived around that area thought they were Aliens in 1900's? wow not just a recent thing then.
