A friend of mine is an amateur astronomer and a few years back, I had the pleasure of seeing Jupiter though his telescope. Not as big as what you are showing us here but very very cool nonetheless.

S&F for a great vid !!!

Would I be correct in saying that the 2 she's are our own Earth and Venus? Never really thought about it until I saw your comment.

The planets are all female.
The God Jupiter is NOT the planet and he is male

Jupiter the planet was named after Jupiter the god by the Romans.

And as you say, Jupiter the god is a man.

In Russian (my first language), a planet is a "she", планета [planeta]. However, Jupiter is a male name, so one would refer to Jupiter's moons as "his moons."

And yet, a Google search for "Jupiter and her moons" returns far more results than for "Jupiter and his moons".
