The Army National guard has fallen signicantly behind its recruiting goal for the year. The goal was 56,002 and the actual count of enlistees was
49,210. They also missed last years goal by almost 7000.
This could mean longer stay of duties for active members and the inability to fully staff some units.
WASHINGTON The Army National Guard has fallen significantly behind its recruiting goal one month into the military's new fiscal year, continuing a
downward slide that began in 2003 and could make it harder for the Pentagon to find enough troops for the war in Iraq.

Hmm I wonder if the subject of the draft will be heard more frequently, once it becomes clear there are not enough military people to safely staff and
protect, what other choice will they have? There was also an article in todays Buffalo News that applications at Westpoint and other military
academies have been receiving fewer applications.
