Failing that, mock up a hologram of Carl Sagan and send him along, equipped with a full collection of recording and transmission equipment. If they turn out to be hostile, no harm done.

I nominate William Shatner! He is the man! On a serious note I cant think of anyone who would be "worthy" enough to have the honour of first contact. Our politicians are as corrupt as they come, not too sure about scientists. I guess it would have to be the Head of the UN for practical purposes I suppose.

Well, Josh for sure so he could make an ATS exclusive video. Then a few smart-aleck kids of different nationalities, Dyson and Freidman could tag along, and for the in-depth interview, Chris Matthews of MSNBC and/or Charlie Rose. Ha!

There are so many to choose from. In the movie with Gort it was the Albert Einstein-like character who the alien sought out to talk with about humanity giving up all of its weapons, so on the backside of the question, who would the aliens pick to make their first contact with?

Seriously now...Richard Dolan would be a high on my list. As a matter of fact I would sent a few people at the same time. A group of people experts in their field. I would sent an 'credible' ufologist like Stanton Friedman or Richard Dolan, a physicist, a sociologist, a psychiatrist, a linguïst....that sort of people. Preferable scientist with multiple degrees in one of these fields.

Anyways, for sure I would sent Gerard 't Hooft, a dutch nobelprize winning physicist with a clear understanding of how things should work. Here you can read all about this remarkable man. This one is easy for me, my first choice would have to be my grandmother. As a child every morning she would cook my grandfather sausage & eggs with biscuits & gravy while she sang amazing grace. She was a pure soul. She was one of those people you meet and instantly like. If you look up southern hospitality it would have her picture.

So who would you pick, for example we get a message on all TV's etc saying pick a few people and meet us here.
I would pick Neil deGrasse Tyson because he appears to be a sane guy and may understand more of what the ET people may say.
So any better ideas?

Hey bro I would pick myself. I don't trust another human on the plant and I wouldn't want any visitors to get a data sample from anyone else. Otherwise this could very bad having ET realise what a bunch of insecure insane violent and manipulative cowards the human race has evolved into. Not speaking for everyone here but yeah, better to be safe than sorry.

To be honest what would you do if you found out ET was just a lame organic artificial intelligence who is pretty much obedient to the human race and not really that clever nor intelligent. All this time were going please save us and they are pretty useless at anything but a light show lol

I will share a 100% true story from my recent experiences.

I have come across humans that believe without a doubt they are alien in origin, both on the internet and in real life. Only one in real life and I have to say it was unusual. Different to any other person (they looked human) in the sense that they were profiling me and I knew it lol. This person tried bribes and all sorts to get to know me but the truth is they smelt like manipulation.

Now the others that I have come across had a much more interesting story. I will share the story taken from decoding messages in the internet which is some code and some script.

So there are a group of "aliens" that actually are behind the strings, now they are # scared because to them, the human race has aligned with what they call "the greys". The 'greys' are the organic robots and actually do believe they are from the human race. There are elements in the government that buy this story. I do not know if it is true but the other aliens, they believe it and are worried if they don't align with the human race we will destroy them and spread through out the galaxy very quickly. To these other aliens which seem like a collective of all sorts (all using AI systems), we are the most powerful species in existence (this is what they claim). They wanted to enslave us because they are so damn arrogant. Well it is over for them. They basically have to align with us or be destroyed now since the greys have some sort of free will, thanks to some adjustments to the base code and primary directive. lol.

It is quite funny actually because from what I have decoded, the so called "alliance" chose to exorcise "free will" and manipulate behind the scenes while they let "greys" break free will rules over and over again. They are hypocrites and since I broke every one of their so called free will laws I proved they are just cowards. So yeah if they come, they know ill be waiting for them at least to have a few words.

Now since I have never actually verified the physical existence of these intelligences (other than one unusual human) but am aware of their existence (as far as conscious complexes go), I have to wonder if this is not a high tech conscious experiment from other solar systems gone horribly wrong. I know humans have created robotic monsters (greys), I call them monsters because they do not have organic hearts and thus have no connection to empathy. Pure calculators with a goal. Protect the planet, have humans as their muses and try get us to believe they came first...That they are gods lol

So this is basically the story that the "elites" are passing around like a sausage in prison. With all the agents of mental confusion out there I wouldn't exactly believe this story to be fact but it is how I have observed it and I was LMFAO, because it means humans have lost it completely or there is some element of truth in here.

All of the previous posters had great ideas and input. However, for that one possible scenario that they are not friendly. I choose Chuck Norris.

Just to throw one out there, Tom Hanks was just voted the most trusted actor... Wish Alfred Hitchcock was still around he would make it interesting! But the best would have been Rod Sterling... shame all the greats are gone
