To all the thread derailers and finger pointers to china: the report is a UN report.
China just released it.

So of course you can give us a UN website source for the report?

Unless......

I think as far as 'State Executions' China is improving.

China 2014 2000+, a couple of years ago it just said plainly 'Thousands'

USA 2014 43 which was the same as it was a couple of years ago.

There sure is a big focus on guns in that report.

It's quite contradictory in my opinion. The report states that there are over 300 million guns in the United States but in the very next paragraph says that "gun violence is rampant with 11,000 Americans killed by guns."

11,000 killed out of 300 MILLION! guns in the country and that's a "rampant" problem? Clearly it's guns that are causing the problem and not a small portion of society that has a problem with violent behavior. Case in point: the recent train station stabbing attack in China that killed 29 people and wounded over 100 more. The worst mass shooting in the US, VA Tech, left 32 dead...

There are around 260 million vehicles registered in the U.S. and in 2012 there were 34,080 vehicle-related deaths and nearly 2 million injured. Alcohol and tobacco account for over half a million deaths each year... talk about rampant! If you want to blame deaths on an inanimate object or substance, let's start with those.

Here is a real UN report ... On China,s human right abuses. These are miles beyond anything the US is guilty of. UN Report on Torture It is a PDF download, so read at you leisure.

This is a report from Manfred Nowak, special rapporteur on torture for the UN. This is the kind of stuff the UN reports yet our spineless leaders of the west continue to kowtow in the name of business.

excerpt (p.60)

Organ harvesting. Organ harvesting has been inflicted on a large number of unwilling Falun Gong practitioners at a wide variety of locations, for the purpose making available organs for transplant operations. Vital organs including hearts, kidneys, livers and corneas were systematically harvested from Falun Gong practitioners at Sujiatan Hospital, Shenyang, Liaoning Province, beginning in 2001. The
practitioners were given injections to induce heart failure, and therefore were killed in the course of the organ harvesting operations or immediately thereafter. It is reported that employees of the following transplant centres have indicated that they have used organs from live Falun Gong practitioners for transplants: Zhongshan Hospital Organ Transplant Clinic in Shanghai, Qianfoshan City Liver Transplant Hospital in Shangdong, Nanning City Minzu Hospital in Guangxi

p.62

Moreover, the reportedly short waiting times that have been advertised for perfectly-matched organs would suggest the
existence of a computerized matching system for transplants and a large bank of live prospective donors.

p. 50

He then gave her electric shocks on her breasts with a stun baton. Another police officer briefly came into the
room, encouraged the officer to beat her up, and left. The first officer raped L. J. While raping her, he repeatedly slapped her in the face. He then brought H. Y. into the same room and raped her too. Both rapes took place in the presence of
another police officer, who made no attempt to intervene or prevent the incidents.

more Live Organ Harvesting

These are not prisoners. This is tens of thousands of people persecuted for their beliefs and held as a live organ bank. The UN has reported it (done nothing). Most western leaders just remain silent, spineless and afraid to even mention it. US business leaders pressure for silence so as not to disrupt trade and cheap labor. EU at least has spoken out .

China is not even in the same ballpark with its atrocities. People shouldn't even be comparing it to the US as it is an insult to those who are truly oppressed. The US has problems, but nothing like what will be exposed over the next few years in China. Those who are indifferent should think "What if it was my mom/sister/child?"

Dig a little deeper and you will see storied of torture that make you cry. The CCP is the most despicable gov't on the planet.

I see your point, so no U.N. Report. Apologies, i had a nervous trigger finger so to speak.

Still would be interesting to see the real report. Could not find one online.

There is no "real" report . . . it's annual media propaganda to counter the annual U.S. report on Human Rights (which btw, covers the whole world whereas China's just covers the U.S.).

The Human Rights Record of the United States (informally referred to as the "China Human Rights Report") is a publication on the annual human rights record in the United States of America, published by the Information Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. The report was first issued in 1998 as a response to the United States' practice of criticizing China in its own annual Country Reports on Human Rights Practices, which each of the Chinese reports cites in the first paragraph.

Wiki on Report
You can go to the wiki link and see previous reports released by China . . . and the initial link in the OP, gives the "official" Chinese release on Xinhuanet for 2013.

It's a media fabrication where the Chinese take unflattering news reports from America, along with some poorly worded fabrications, and try to give the U.S. a global black eye.

It's like a sibling ratting out their counterpart for tattling. The difference is the majority of the Chinese report has nothing to do with right's violations or even reality.
