gma.yahoo.com...

A Mississippi man woke up in a body bag as funeral home workers prepared to embalm him, ABC affiliate WAPT reported.
Walter Williams, 78, of Lexington, Miss., appeared to have died at his home Wednesday night. The coroner came to the house and pronounced him dead at 9 p.m.
"I stood there and watched them put him in a body bag and zipped it up," Williams' nephew, Eddie Hester, told WAPT.
Williams was taken to Porter and Sons Funeral Home. They were getting ready to embalm him, and that's when he started kicking inside the body bag.

One of my big fears is being buried alive.

At least this guy came to life before he got embalmed!

The funeral home manager, Byron Porter, said this was the first time he'd ever seen anything like it. Yeah, I bet he hadn't!

I wonder if he had to change his underwear when that body bag started moving around?! ROFL!

I saw this and the first thing I thought of was 'ORGAN DONATION' ....
If he had been an organ donor he wouldn't have woken up at all.
I'm all for organ donation ... and, prior to my illness, I was signed up to organ donate upon death.
But I admit that was the first thing I thought of when reading the story.

I would have contacted the next of kin - and asked - do you want the funeral to go ahead

this is why I am not allowed to operate a funeral directors business

I have read several situations similar to this in the last few years. Really weird.
Here's an article I found from 2012 that recounts a few I remember reading about:
People Waking Up From The Dead

Also, to the poster who spoke of organ donation... eek! So true!
