Did you know, that israel even abhors women praying at the wall, and
has restrictions on women studying the 'religion' ?
Research is beneficial.

I knew that and that they won't sit next to women on planes and I watched a reality dating show amongst these strict religious types and it was scary strict and restrictive in what the woman wore to where the woman could go on the date, it ended up she was modestly covered and they went to an ice cream shop. If her male date did not act in a certain way or claim strict obedience to the faith he was rejected. So they are really deep into it, whatever "that" is. As she rejected many of them it may be that the young men didn't know themselves how behave 'properly' (was intolerance and spitting part of it?) within their religion, but she was looking for someone just like her father or someone who behaved as her father. I'd say she was sheltered and indoctrinated and it was scary to watch her behaviour; she knew her place and stayed within those confines.
