Woman gets STD in car Geico to give 5 million

Can’t make this stuff up.
A Missouri woman had consensual sex in the back seat of a car.
Her partner, whoms vehicle acted as the mobile motel room, neglected to inform her he had HPV.
Not long after, She developed a throat tumour and it tested positive for HPV.

So naturally, since she was in the back seat of a car insured by Geico, she’s feels they are obligated to pay her $5 million in damages.
And by the sounds of it, a judge is on board.

GEICO acted in bad faith, by refusing to defend the man who owns the car, despite multiple requests, and by refusing to settle her claim. She says the man "was insured against his personal liability arising from his negligence in actions involving his automobile," and that makes GEICO responsible.

This one was kind of luck of the draw for her.

They instantly denied the claim. She disputed it so they sent it to arbitration (not real court). Arbitration decided it happened in the car, the plaintiff was insured, and they granted it to her.

Geiko had to honor it since they sent it to arbitration. They likely didn't fight too hard thinking it was so silly.

Gotta love America.
