Yep, my old man was a hardcore Country Western and Western Swing fan. Johnny, Hank, Gene Autry, Bob Wills, Spade Cooley - he'd play those records all the time. And of course I'd watch The Jim Stafford Show and Hee Haw with him every week!

I will not even pretend to be embarrassed about bonding with my Dad while watching Hee Haw.

I know the lyrics to this one, by the way

No shame here - as a preteen wannabe guitar player I just wanted to watch Roy Clark's fingers do things I never knew were possible!

Apologies to the OP for the drift

In my opinion, Roy Clark was one of the greatest musicians to ever walk the face of the Earth. He could play anything.

You could invent a musical instrument, show it to Roy Clark, and he would be one of the greatest players of of all time with that instrument.

Truly phenomenal.

I also apologize for the thread drift, but the man deserves his due.
