Of course the ruling Capitalist class don`t want us to know about this. Jury Nullification is meant to benefit them...not us.

If one of those high ranking Capitalist who caused the global economic meltdown were actually brought to face a judge and jury, the lawyers would have a field day picking out an epic jury which would be totally made up of pro-capital, pro-bourgeoisie government and pro-international finance lackey workers who are unaware of their own class. If the facts of the case become too much for even the stanchest pro-capital sickopath to write off...that is when we will see jury nullification come into play. The jury those lawyers would choose for a high profile finance crime are sure to be well informed about their option for jury nullification. And if the jury does have a backbone and convict one of those rotten POS, the US president would simply issue a pardon on New Year`s; because we all know all US presidents are the nicest people in the world.

Jury nullification has historically been used to defend the weak FROM the powerful. Its earliest manifestation was when a jury refused to convict William Penn for being a Quaker, pre-civil war, it was used to prevent convictions in the North of men and women who violated the fugitive slave law. In modern times, it can be used to protect a woman who kills her abusive husband, to prevent drug users from serving longer jail terms than killers and rapists and to resist laws that make the mere possession of a weapon with too many bullets a felony offense.

It has rarely been used by the wealthy to get off. They have their high priced lawyers who can bend the law to their wills and the money to simply bribe their way to freedom. Jury nullification calls upon jurors to use their conscience to judge both the law and the facts of a case to come to a more just conclusion.

Wonderful move. An informed public is a strong public.

It's time these over privileged gimps at the bar remembered the real power rests firmly and squarly in the hands of us, the people.

And..we're all as mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore.

Nullify unjust and victimless crimes, save $ billions a year and make life much fairer for those unjustly incarcerated.
