People are more shocked about how it looks rather than what it stands for.

People are more concerned on how their neighbors will judge them rather than how we should judge are lawmakers.

Kudos to you OP for expressing your feelings and making a statement.

Of course there will be those that bitch, moan, complain and .....do nothing about the root cause.

Come election day, no matter how many times they've been hurt or no matter how many changes have been passed that directly affect them, they'll quickly push down that VOTE FOR THIS PARTY button just like the programmed drone they've become.

I had a UPS delivery guy, last week, standing in my yard, making a very solemn salute to Old Glory hanging in distress, upside down in my yard. He told me he was a Vet, and understood exactly what I meant by hanging my flag the way I did.

Most likely, those who complain of a US Flag being upside down don't have a clue as to what it truly represents or disinclined to understand what distress in which we (US) are supposed to be.

I understand, as we all do, the gap of financial diversity among the US population. I'm not saying that the rich don't have problems, but when I see houses that range from $300,000 and up around my location, I feel I can say with a fair amount of certainty that the family in that house has less trouble feeding themselves than I do.

I am a firm believer in relativity, so, I therefore can see how the rich may look at my life and think "He doesn't have the financial stresses that I have." and that would be relatively correct.

So, my point is that my definition of "distress" might offend the Jones' down the road who think that America is just fine. . .because, yes, it's a land of opportunity IF you have the finances to actually be able to afford the risk of the opportunity. For some, everything is just fine. . .for others, it seems the country is sinking into an abysmal cove of fear, uncertainty, and ultimate finality.

People who do not understand why the flag is upside down really need, as the OP states, to hear the side of someone who is feeling the clenches of what appears to be an unfair balance of income, social status, healthcare, and quality of life.

You are using a national symbol for you to make a petty political statement.

Every one of my customers are repeat customers. I do good work and my repeat customer base proves that. I have had more positive support than I expected.

I honestly thought I was screwing myself over this deal, but said, "it is what it is". This is something that I stand for and will continue to do. I DO love my Country and don't want it to fail. Comments like yours makes me understand why we're in the shape we're in. Apathy is a bi***...

Are you serious? We are in distress. We have a tyrant for a president that wont even pledge allegiance to the flag. For real? You couldn't be more wrong. The American people and the USA itself is directly under attack. Last time I checked that was what we flew flags upside down for. If I had one outside it would be upside down as well. I have seen a lot of people support the OP on FB and here. So you are incorrect.

People might not understand right away but they should ask and then he can tell them. Then they will understand.

Turn a flag over and hope the government just quits or out of kindness changes it's way of doing business. I think most people know the situation is getting bad. Watch people reelect most of the their incumbent Congress office holders next time out.

Your flag "distress call" is probably the most clear indication of the complete lack of confidence and trust that we can express in regards to our politicians as problem solvers.. I say we because myself and millions more are totally confused also.
confused by the politicians action toward supposely solving the problems of:
a) stopping Obamacare
b) getting government restrictions out of the way toward job creation.
c) re-structioning our tax code to make it attractive for corporations to want to do business in the U.S.

But wait, I forgot the definition of insanty: trying to solve our problems by doing things the same old way with the same old people. hell they are the ones that got things in this mess.

They are so damn worried about what the polls say, how to keep their jobs & benefits, greed, what their parties wants, and how to get their party in control so they can steal even more.
what is good for the nation and it's people are not even being considered.
