So far he has been talking about the subject, this isn't a recitation of the phone book.

It is on C-SPAN2.

Hope that answers it for you.

It does indeed, thanks!

As for the spectacle being boring - I guess they just don't make filibusters like they used to.

And that's a shame. He would have had far better turnout had he not pre-announced it.

Honestly, fire them all Tenth. Thats my opinion.

Yup, that's my opinion too.

But, in the meantime, we should be holding our representatives responsible for not acting like children.

Repealing Obamacare in this climate is impossible. It isn't going to happen. Even top level GOP members have said so, that the Tea Party is wasting it's time and the American people's time with this fight.

Hell the beltway media even makes fun of it.

I agree entirely it's bad legislation and should be deal with, but only when it actually can be dealt with.

Obamacare is a massive failure, it hasn't even been fully enacted yet and tens of thousands have already lost their full time jobs.

The IRS is in charge of handling Obamacare.

Obamacare was written by the biggest insurance corporations and congressional legislation writers that are exempt from the very law.

Obamacare is such an epic fail that Obama himself, the guy that this law is nicknamed after put off the full enactment until after the 2014 elections. Wait a minute, if Obamacare was such a great idea, wouldn't he want it fully enacted BEFORE the 2014 elections so that people would be so eager to vote in MORE democrats?

So why is Obamacare a good idea? Because it will steal money from struggling Americans and give poor medical care to even poorer Americans?

Obamacare is an #EPICFAIL. #DEFUNDOBAMACARE

I can't help but wonder what the hell you folks find so fascinating about a filibuster. Ugh. It's about the lowest of the low. Anything to keep yo dolla's though, huh. Very sad indeed, and a shame to our country and the U.S. government.

You could find out if you watched, he is talking about the issue in detail.

When I turned it off he was talking about how his father, who immigrated from Cuba, cooked him green eggs and ham for breakfast when he was a child because it was his favorite book.

Sometimes he used spinach, but to cheat he used green food coloring.

Well, that's nice. I'm sure it's all worthwhile, and he deserves his pay check for playing the lame game. Watch tax dollars floating away. If he stands up there until he "can no longer stand", he might be singing nursery rhymes. That's all a filibuster is. A way to waste time. But then, he and his cronies are all experts in that department, aren't they.

The government has been shut down before and we survived. Sure without air traffic controllers, many people will be inconvenienced. And of course, national parks will close. I see that as a small price to pay. This bill was rammed through congress and down our throats. No one that voted for it even read it, let alone weighed the potential consequences.

But, in reality, as others have said, even if the house passes it, the senate will not. And if the senate did pass it, the president of course would veto it. So yes, it can be viewed as a senseless exercise. We will just go along another year without a budget.

I think the real showdown is coming up in the next week or two with the debt ceiling increase debate. That will certainly be more intense than this.

We will still have air traffic controllers as they are considered essential employees.

Some of the towers may close though.

Yup, it was part of his father's immigration story about learning to speak english and watching movies repeatedly to learn about american culture. That seemed out of context but, I think it was a non sequitur. Hey, it is a filibuster after all!

Can anyone here validate that jobs are being lost due to Obamacare?

A lot of small businesses stopped providing health benefits to their employees in recent years due to the astronomical cost of health care premiums. Those high costs don't really effect large firms in their hiring processes. ObamaCare regulates insurance to make it more affordable for small businesses. This, if anything, should make those jobs more attractive.

Also, in Cruz’s rant on Obamacare, has he yet to suggest a viable alternative? I haven’t heard the GOP ever once provide one. It seems to me we’re FINALLY joining the rest of the industrialized world in providing affordable healthcare to it’s citizens.

Just MHO...

Damn straight!

As I like to say when people fear monger about government 'shut-down':

"The government shuts down completely for 2 days out of every week, 8 days out of every month and 3 months out of every year. So put that in your pipe and smoke it!"

(not you, the people I was talking to)

There was a testimony by a Subway multiple franchise owner pleading to stop Obamacare because according to his accountants, he would have to fire employees in each store. Obamacare accounting specialists are doing really good right now because nobody really understands how to handle Obamacare. Very sad indeed.

Forever 21 already cut I think several tens of thousands of full-time jobs to part-time jobs. This is where Americans will hurt the most.

So basically, it's not the ACA, it's the business owner not wanting to provide their already grossly underpaid employees health insurance or pay the fine. So again, it's not really the ACA it's a greedy business owner afraid he might make a little less than he already does.

I'm just curious why the same system works in Massachusetts?

It is the ACA incentivizing poor(1) behavior.

(1) poor MORAL behavior, but WISE fiscal behavior

Are you a business owner? Have you ever owned a business or managed one? Do you really think every business in America makes huge profits off of huge margins?

I own a business and sometimes it actually is hard to hit profitability, bills need to be paid, family needs to be fed, there are costs attached to every business and most small businesses were barely struggling to function even BEFORE Obamacare was passed. Imagine running a business, already having a good balance between making a profit and keeping growth or sustainability steady, then your entire system gets shocked and you have to hire consultants to tell you how to best navigate this situation. You think employers who want growth really want to screw their best employees?

Every business out there is some greedy bastard that is out to keep their pockets lined and doesn't give one iota of a cowturd about their employees? You have a very twisted view of reality and only somebody that doesn't understand business and management would say what you just said.
