Vatican say the UN envoy recently deployed to Syria was caught in "a sort of crossfire"

The Vatican's permanent observer at the United Nations in Geneva, Monsignor Silvano Tomasi, last week cast doubt on the Syrian regime's responsibility for the apparent chemical attack in the suburbs of Damascus. The Vatican is against any armed intervention, pointing to the havoc caused by the US-led war to topple Saddam Hussein in Iraq in 2003.

Welcome to ATS.

You sensed that this was an important article to bring to our attention. Would you explain why? I'm not terribly surprised that the Vatican would be calling for talks and peace, even though some ATSers think the Vatican wants war to help bring in the NWO.

What thoughts have you got on this article?
