Thats a much larger question, and it isn't hard to find evidence of a greater amount of questionable violence across the world. Though i would find it hard to attribute that to drugs like Oxy since America is the largest consumer of that particular drug.

The gunman in georgia simply stated he was off his meds.
While i know it won't hit the news outside Spokane there was a standoff up the street from my house at a local pawn shop. Which of course is similar to the stand off at the bank that recently made headlines.
The killing of the australian athlete.
The guy in Florida (i believe) who shot someone and then claimed it didn't matter because of his victim's race.
The Hannah Anderson story.
The guy who posted his dead wifes pic on Facebook.

In China a police office who was off duty took an infant out of a couple's arms and smashed it on the ground after betting that the baby wasn't real. (Which just sounds f-ing odd to me)

In India there has been a marked increase in gang rapes.

Obviously the world is a violent place, and terrible things happen all the time, so in part it just might be our increasingly connected culture showing us regularly all that violence going down in almost real time that is making us more aware of it all.

For the love of God, go back on your meds before you wind up hurting yourself. You want to kill people based on how they look. Think on that for a second. Why mod action hasn't been taken against you is beyond me. That's not my call, but you need to dial it down.

So I am wondering why all the people so outraged by this supposedly racially motivated attack (two blacks and one white killing a white guy doesn't strike me as racially motivated, it is more likely that it was class motivated) never made a post about the incident in Texas when a couple of white good 'ol boys chained a black man to the back of their pickup truck and dragged him until all that was left of him was a bloody greasy smear a mile long, and perhaps a arm and a bit of torso still chained to the truck?

I did a search for this story on ATS both via ATS's search (good luck with that, found stories on chupacabra but nothing on this story) and then google, the latter yielding only this 0-flag thread:

I guess here at ATS when two black punks and one white punk kill a white guy, then that's a racially motivated attack, but when two white Texan good 'ol boys chain a black man to the back of their truck and ablate him to death, dragging him down some country road at high speed, that story isn't even worth bringing up -- and clearly isn't a racially motivated attack.

Again, I'd like to be proved wrong, and have someone show me a few more threads with a lot of flags on this older case out of Texas -- and even better would be if some of the people posting in this thread and going on about the racial double standard by Obama and the media posted their outrage in such a thread.

People are outraged because 2 young thugs killed an 89 year old war Veteran!

Black, white, pink or purple doesn't even come into it. This Hero fought for the very liberty's these fools now enjoy!

It could just as easily have been my Grandpa!

As i said in the other thread I would nail them to a wall, set fire to there nether regions, and sit back and watch them flop around in agony!

That's what they deserve!

Just about every white kid who went on a shooting spree was on powerful psycho-pharmocological medications for depression. How do those work? They disconnect/disable that part of the brain that relates to perception of the current or future state of the person and the consequences of their actions.

The blacks that do the killing are usually self-medicated on drugs like crack or skank for depression, and didn't have a father figure or role model in their lives.

It's things like this that make me stay as far away from the words African American as I possibly can. Am I black? Sure, but no way in hell am I grouping myself with people like this. If someone asks, I'm Jamaican - wasn't born here, and bear no relation to practically anyone in this country at all. Don't even bubble in African American because it makes me feel like I have more in common with these people than I actually do.

All murder is tragedy. I couldnt find the racial aspect of this crime less important if I tried, because the only thing about murder that matters a damn is the victim. The perpetrator is just a detail to be dealt with, but the victim is someone to mourn.

That the victim in this case was one of the people who battled the legions of evil in times past only adds to the tragedy.

You do realize that your "Lord and Master" isn't alone right?

There are over 700+ members of the House, Congress and the Senate. Many of them are very rich and have been in power longer then Obama will be and are in many ways more responsible for the current state of American affairs then our current POTUS.

Does Obama say stupid things? Absolutely.
So do most Presidents.

More than 100 people came to show their respects Friday night for a World War II veteran who was murdered Wednesday night. The memorial was held outside of the Eagles Lodge near Lidgerwood and Francis. Flowers began piling up Thursday morning in honor of Delbert Belton who was killed nearby outside of the Eagles Ice-A-Rena. Friends, family and strangers attended the memorial. Everyone lit a candle to show their respect. The crowd then they started to sing “Proud to be an American” to thank Delbert for his service in the military. Others shared memories about Delbert and some called him “Shorty” and some said they felt compelled to speak even though they didn’t know him. One of the people who attended the memorial said, “He survived combat just like I did. To die like he did that was just a waste. But now god brought him home.” A motorcade was also on hand to ride in Delbert’s memory. People at the memorial said the Spokane Veteran’s Arena is accepting calls from the community to gauge how many people would like to see a community memorial set up at the Eagles Lodge. Now I personally don't think it is racist at all to tell the truth. Fact is it is statistically proven that blacks on average commit more acts of violence. Fact is there are several problems in the black community. Specially a glorification of the gangster culture (drugs and crime) and single parents (black men not raising their children). What is also sad is when a black man calls this out, he is called an Uncle Tom (see this happen on ATS)

Now I know some will try to deflect this with economic stats, cite historical facts but at the end of the day - SO WHAT. One has to stop playing the victim card and start trying to solve the problem. That is, work hard for your family so your children will have it better then you do.

The point of the other thread started on this topic was that these killings are NOT about race. Just like the Trayvon Martin killing this is more about the media and race baiting politicians trying to start racial tensions so we don't pay any attention to whatever criminal acts they are perpetrating.

Just more divide and conquer. Give the fluoride drinkers another reason to hate each other while we rob the country blind and take away more of your rights.

The thing is, I am not seeing this from "the street". I live in an inner city , very mixed (mostly Black and White) and I have friends of every color of the rainbow (except Blue- Those Blue people are worthless...).

I was talking last week to a black friend about Trayvon and he said the same thing- Its like the media is trying to provoke something that really isnt there. Things are so far past a "Black/White" issue as we are more in a class issue at this point in History... TPTB however, would much rather make this racial since divide and conquer works best.

Friends of Delbert "Shorty" Belton gathered at the Sportsman Café and Lounge Friday morning, his favorite place to enjoy a meal, to reminisce about his life while struggling to comprehend his tragic death.

Belton, 88, died Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Medical Center after being assaulted by two suspects in the parking lot of the Eagles Lodge Wednesday evening. One suspect, 16-year-old Demetrius Glenn, is in custody and is facing charges for Belton's killing. The second suspect, 16-year-old Kenan Adams-Kinard, remains at large for the deadly attack.

The Sportsman Cafe on North Market was Shorty's favorite place to eat with his friends, and all day Friday people came into the restaurant to share stories about Shorty and laugh and, for at least one meal, put aside their feelings of anger shared not only by the local community but the entire nation.

If you plan on going out tonight raise a glass for Shorty and do as he would do.
Laugh, love and let the hatred go.
If anything, this just proves life is far too short for anything else and he would likely prefer it that way.
