It's funny cos after watching an advert years ago of a boy collecting flies from the water surface and frying them up i've always felt inclined to craving for fried insects.

I've never eaten fried insects before, or any insects for that matter except if i've accidentally swallowed a fly in my beer or something, but am not too repulsed by the idea. I think my conditioning to not eat insects would be hard to get past though, and I reckon i'd have to have a go with the more crispy ones as opposed to squidgy ones, but yeah i'd give it a try.

Until that time comes though i'll stick to beans and lentils for meat replacements

They're really tasty! I'd definitely recommend giving them a try if you get the chance. Sometimes you can find them in Asian delis, although you'd probably have to be in a larger city for that. I'd probably start with fried crickets and work your way up from there.
