Behold I have discovered the greatest Butty known to man !

My next door neighbour and I was just having a chat outside and he told me that he is addicted to Peanut Butter and Banana buttys, I looked at him funny and said that sounds bloody awful so he made me one and Wow It is the greatest Butty I have ever had.
Plus its good for you.

Ingredients

Banana
Peanut Butter
Two slices of bread

Instructions.

Spread Peanut butter on a slice of bread, cut banana into slices and place on bread, put remaining bread on top.
And enjoy

OMG I could live on that...literally, fruit,bread,nuts,Bacon all part of a balanced diet

When you're really poor you can make the "bread sandwich".

Ingredients:

- 3 slices of white bread

Instructions:

1. Toast two slices of bread
2. Put the soft piece of bread in between.

The crunchy texture of the toast combined with the soft, chewy piece is quite nice!

I love me some PBB sammiches. I drizzle honey over mine.

I used to like peanut butter and lettuce sandwiches. It has to be the crunchy type of lettuce.

You Sir blaspheme!

There are but two fillings that are worthy of the name 'butty'; bacon along with the mandatory brown sauce and chips.
(Jam maybe acceptable, but it's debateable).

Anything else is a sandwich, sarnie, sanger etc.

Barring a bacon butty the next best 'sandwich' is most definitely ham and pease pudding in a stottie.

Sometimes simple is truly best.

Butty comes from the Latin (Northern English Latin) Buttyius Breadus which means bread made into a butty.
I call all my Buttys Buttys, and to call one a Sandwich is against God, Bod and the Queen.

We may have to agree to disagree, but I do like this definition of a 'butty'.

Not to be confused with a sandwich, a butty is formed by folding a single slice of buttered bread around whatever takes your fancy and is readily available (i.e. requiring no further preparation). In its purest form a true butty is filled with ingredients, in any combination, from a meal already underway. For example, if you are eating a "Full English" breakfast, you may butter a slice of bread and pile on any one or more of the items on your plate (e.g. egg, sausage, beans, black pudding, bacon, mushrooms).
