I can't scratch this mental itch that EOY 2013 is actually the real 2012 Mayan end date

I think preparation on both a physical and spiritual level is important. And knowing about things is a crucial part of that. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way.

In the end I think you're right, thanks. But not exactly how you think. The old way has to DIE.

Only a closed mind worries, an open mind embraces it, welcomes it with open arms, I for one get a warm fuzz feeling just thinking about that day. Not applying or saying you have a closed mind, but one that is sitting on the fence.

Well said, me too, thanks. I've even prepared for it in my dreams.

My own personal opinion is this,

The world is screwed at this moment in time, Rich Western Countries are bankrupt and broke and printing money to hide the cracks. Nothing has been fixed since 2008 except the greed of the rich cashing in on the misery of others.

Sometime soon something has to happen, either we have world wide debt forgiveness or we end up with another war, just like all previous times the world has a depression.

What worries me is that all the western governments appear not to care about the Trillions of debt and apart from some minor Austerity seem to be carrying on as normal.

This leads me to believe that they dont care, why dont they care? Perhaps they have greater knowledge of events to come.

That's hitting the nail on the head~

As much as I am like Littled and love me some "Doom Porn" the actuality that "something" is coming is a inevitable event, putting a said date and time on it, well that's another ball of wax.

I for one won't condemn Circle and feel he/she is just looking for the "answers" and trying put that billion piece puzzle together the best they know how.

Wouldn't be the first time people got there "math" wrong, now would it?

Yes, thanks. It's a very precarious thing to put a date on things. But I think we can narrow it down looking at the signs if nothing else. We can't sustain our present course for much longer. It's just not possible.

That's so ridiculous it's not even worth talking about.
Not to mention it happened last week and there wasn't much effect.

It's a common tactic so sway people's thought processes, and I think that's exactly what you're doing. But nobody's buying it, unless they are weak minded and easily influenced of course.

The increase of everything going off all around the planet at historical levels isn't entertainment.

The only weak minded people are those who believe every doomsday prophet who has a "feeling" that something terrible is going to happen. People have been running around saying "the sky is falling" ever since speech was invented and there will always be those who will believe it and run screaming in terror. If you want anyone to take this bunkus seriously then present some factual evidence that has scientific validity- otherwise it is nothing but amusing entertainment. So far I've seen nothing but speculation based on a "feeling".

the mayans never prophesied an end date..

"perhaps every generation believes that it has reached a turning point of history, but our problems seem particularly intractable and our future increasingly uncertain. many of our difficulties mask a deeper spiritual crisis.." -karen armstrong

history is always turning, it doesn't spontaneously change in an certain instant or on a specific date.. it's the cumulative interactions of innumerable forces that drive the evolution of our world..

"when you come to think of it, almost all human behavior and activity is not, essentially, any different from animal behavior. the most advanced technologies and craftsmanship bring us, at best, up to the super-chimpanzee level.. actually, the gap between, say, plato or nietzsche, and the average human is greater than the gap between that chimpanzee and the average human..

the realm of the real spirit, the true artist, the saint, the philosopher, is rarely achieved.. why so few? why is world history and evolution not stories of progress, rather this endless and futile addition of zeros?

no greater values have developed. hell, the greeks 3,000 years ago were just as advanced as we are. so what are these barriers that keep people from reaching anywhere near their real potential. the answer to that can be found in another question, and that's this:

which is the most universal human characteristic: fear or laziness?" -louis mackey

instead of drawing assumptions based on incorrect information that has been distorted by time and endless reinterpretation, fearing "the end" like it's just around the corner, and waiting our whole lives for "something" to happen, why don't we take hold of the now? why don't we try to educate each other and help one another understand each other?

why do we spend so much time focused on what may or may not be out there, coming to get us, when we could be embracing what we are so incredibly lucky to already have?

we need to push ourselves to truly make a positive difference in this world, for the short time we are here.. we need to stop focusing on every little bad thing that may or may not come our way and instead actually listen to the universe when it speaks to us, which it has done all along and always will..

the world will not end in our lifetimes, not if we show it that we are grateful to be here and respect the life it has provided us.. we need to reconnect ourselves to the universal intelligence, get back in synch with it, and realise that it loves us as its own children..

"silly monkeys, give them thumbs, they forge a blade, and what was one they'll surely divide it right in two" -maynard james keenan

Same time next year, we'll have this same thread except with '2014' instead of '2013'.

People have been expecting the end to come in their lifetime and predicting dates for thousands of years, I don't think it'll be any different for us.

Nothing better than made up doom porn with not even a pretense of evidence to support it

I think you should just say that the world is going to end tomorrow and say it each day, and after many years it will come true.....

The universe wont stop its motioning, and the future will still sprout in love. No matter how negative people are towards a better world...the overwhelming positivity will negate. If the sheep dont want a new world, the butterfly will.

Actually religion supports the end of days. So your claim is void.

Saying it won't happen is fundamentally weak. It denies the past record as well as the certainty that it will happen again.
