CIA said to back study on ways to hack the global climate

This is pretty interesting. I guess now TPTB can do what they have been doing anyway right out in the open.

The U.S. intelligence community is helping to fund a study that is evaluating ways to cool the global climate, including proposals to pump the skies full of sunlight reflecting particles and build machines that vacuum greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

A final report is tentatively scheduled for release in the spring or summer of 2014 by the National Academy of Sciences, which has convened a committee of science and policy experts to study the issue.

"It is an assessment of the science — what do we know, what do we not know, what are the risks based on what we know and don't know right now," Lauren Rugani, a spokeswoman for the National Academy of Sciences, told NBC News.

"We are not conducting experiments, we are not producing original research, we are not developing any new technologies," she added.

Apparently the CIA must know something about "climate change" and it's future impact on the environment coupled with global politics, declining agricultural yields, security implications, population growth forecasts, etc that it feels is NOT in our best interests to be privy to. If they've taken such steps to bury their findings and conclusions, this certainly does not bode well, in my opinion.

The CIA is so busy!

I think this is long past where "Mission Creep" became outright creepy. These "Intelligence" agencies need disbanded and built from scratch, for what the nation needs and in very specific/narrow roles ..as was originally intended.

Everything they touch, they do under a cloak of security beyond almost all others. Nothing like this should be happening in that black hole of no public comment or oversight. That's where real bad things tend to evolve and happen, IMO.

Yup....Climate intelligence agency. Figures that they were spending all their time doing surveillance on the weather instead of bad guys threatening our country. I suppose they sent all their agents to the beaches to keep an eye on our response to the climate, if the suits were skimpier than we were aware and could be a threat to society. The agents were required to approach these skimpily dressed individuals and have a conversation.

That's right. These things that "they" do are secrets "yesterday" and then pop up when things are crazy and nobody's concerned (Zimmerman) its all crazy.

I will worry only if a President of the US gives us a warning about the military industrial complex and the potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power existing . Until then , nothing to worry about. Better us than them , right. Oh wait who is us and them again?

Makes perfect sense to me - if you're going to have a massive intelligence agency why wouldn't you want them to have some idea what is out there in the way of climate change??

Its charter is not the science of climate change, but the national security impact of phenomena such as desertification, rising sea levels, population shifts, and heightened competition for natural resources. The Center will provide support to American policymakers as they negotiate, implement, and verify international agreements on environmental issues. That is something the CIA has done for years. “Decision makers need information and analysis on the effects climate change can have on security. The CIA is well positioned to deliver that intelligence,” said Director Leon Panetta.

This must be the support ( you know the kind of support typical of the CIA ) they will provide to

According to Mother Jones, the CIA is helping fund a study by the National Academy of Sciences that will investigate whether humans could use geoengineering – which is defined as deliberate and large-scale intervention in the Earth’s climatic system in order to somehow stop the climate from changing.

On July 14, 2013, an interesting weather report was posted. A storm system had developed over Oklahoma and Texas. The storm brought much needed rain to the area. However, the storm was part of a low pressure system that formed over the east coast. The storm system made an unprecedented move of retrograding under a ridge of high pressure. Which means that the storm system moved from east to west, which is extremely unusual for this hemisphere. Now understand that systems can move like this for a short time however the system went all the way to southern California before it weakened. Are we seeing the side effects of a technology out of control? Or over active imaginations spinning yarns of unfounded coincidences?

Science fiction becomes science fact and conspiracy theory again becomes truth. What was once speculation now has all the data to show that many governments have been using Ionospheric heaters as weapons.
