Okay I stumbled on this via my local newspaper, first I thought it was a joke, but this is real.

Halalgoogling is my new toy. As any responsible Pakistani would, I immediately went ahead and checked its authenticity by looking up the word “sexy”. No, I’m not a pervert; I’m responsible, just like the guys who spread videos of two people “committing sins” in order to raise awareness that it should not be done. How would you know you shouldn’t do it unless you know what it is? But I digress.

Even upon searching a word as simple as ‘sexy’, the displayed results were more preachy than informative.

Check these sexy girls out… If you want to rot in hell, that is! A few simple definitions would have sufficed but we’re talking halal here, and the first step to modern halal-ness is stressing on how haram others are.

The Muslim-friendly search engine functions like Google but incorporates a “Haram Filtering System.

This makes me really sick. Projects like these only increase the gap between the western and Islamic people.
How can they ever connect to western society if they are even blocked on the "truth" from the internet. Allot of questions, but my primary one is; google is known to block websites using a variant of "google" since its their IP.

So how come they aren't being sued? Are they really trying to broaden the gap between both cultures only to inflict more hate?

Ignorance leads to hate. Fearing the unknown.

I think the crusades against people and their natural urges is merely a reflection of the crusaders themselves trying to eliminate the threat of their own tendencies.

Interesting, and how do you feel about kosher?
Does this make a "divide"?
What a silly notion, if you do not want to use this tool of faith then don't.

There is a difference, Its like the same with gay people. Nothing wrong with them, they want to be treated equal yet they devise special parades/party's just for their "kind". I know bad wording but you get the point.

A tool like this only makes is harder for them to understand our habits our culture. IF a young Muslim uses Google he enjoys certain freedoms, he has the power to learn and not just blindly accept the Amman or his fundi dad.

This tool isn't for the old generation, its for the newer generation of Muslims... Its their weapon against the internet where they do not have control. Limit the search increase the control.

Bottom line is an article like this shouldn't need explaining, you just know its a bad thing.

You see this very often in the "gay debate".
The most rabid homophomes are often the ones that are closet gay.

It also reminds me of the mayor of New York that crusaded against the prostitutes he was using.

And some fundamentalist muslims often claim that women wearing too little cloths make the men go crazy and out of control. That really sais a lot about those men, not the women!

But the point you are raising is quite interesting. If they make enough people use this it could be an effective "self firewall" to separate them from other cultures influence.

ROFL, that's the most incredibly inventive promotional campaign for porn I've ever seen. Be sure to watch it every day so you'll never forget what not to do.

You compare gays to muslims and have no problem with jews and their ways?
Very interesting.
I dislike any organized religion but, I don't mind people of the individual faiths.
But I have no problems with the lgbt community, they generally leave people alone to be what or who they want to be.
I guess if you don't like the site, don't use it.
No sense whining about the things others do to make themselves happy if it does not harm anyone else.

Good for them! Your point here is flawed. Its what YOU think, not them. Therein your statement below spells it out:

"How can they ever connect to western society if they are even blocked on the "truth" from the internet."

They dont WANT to connect to Western Society. Not for 2,000 years now or in the next 2,000. You cant sit there and say they need to do this and that...when youre missing the obvious. That they dont want to.

That is the entire issue. You have to sit in your own country, governed by its own government, and follow your own religious convictions. You cant argue theirs need to change to suit what you think is best...when really, all these changes are what you think and feel should happen.

In this world, you have to recognize differences as much as you want them to recognize yours.
