The Ozarks

If you're looking for a good travel destination for this summer, may I suggest the Ozarks?

In this thread I'll go over a few attractions that are good fun for the family, or just a getaway for you and your significant other.

Branson, MO. Branson has many good attractions that are fun for the family. There's Dolly Pardon's Dixie Stampede which is a dinner theater show somewhat like Midieval Times, but with a civil war setting. There's Yakoff Smirnoff, the Baldnobbers, and Jim Stafford. Eureka Springs Arkansas. Eureka Springs is a beautiful town with several shows and sights to take in all throughout the summer. You'll definitely enjoy your stay. www.eurekasprings.com/attractions.html‎

Miami, Oklahoma and Grand Lake. With several Casinos for the adults, and attractions like the Coleman Theatre Great local Eateries like Waylon's Ku Ku and the various Native American attractions, Miami, OK is a much overlooked, but fun attraction for any tourist wanting to see a bit of middle America. Jump on Route 66 (US 69) to Claremore, home of Will Rogers.

For those of you who are interested in the paranormal, the Ozarks offers a lot of opportunities.

First off, outside of the small NE Oklahoma community of Peoria, there's the Spook Light A well known ghostly light that can be seen travelling down a back road. Here is a sight that can give you directions from 3 local towns. People have tried to explain this phenomena with things like lights from Route 66 or a Fixed light on a radio tower, however, people have been viewing this phenomena since the 19th century, long before either of those things existed.

Near the spooklight is a bridge known as Devil's Promenade. Here is a sight explaining it, and more on the spooklight: www.legendsofamerica.com...
