It is the cris kyle memorial fund. That is where the proceeds go. jesse will not win. There is no way to prove or disprove the incident. No jury or judge in there right mind will find that jesse's reputation could be damaged from this givin the stance he has taken on main stream issues. His reputation has been damaged by himself. Countless words spewing forth from his mouth bad mouthing his country and the same system he seeks to find justice in. It is ironic. It is still not too late for jesse to be the bigger man, step up and say that the proceeds from the book going toward his brothers in arms was worth a punch in the jaw or another slight smudge on his stained reputation.

Mr. Ventura won the case.

Ventura Wins ‘American Sniper’ Defamation Case July 29, 2014, MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) — A jury in a St. Paul federal court decided in favor of Jesse Ventura in his defamation trial Tuesday afternoon, according to WCCO’s Pat Kessler.

Ventura was awarded $1.3 million for unjust enrichment, and $500,000 in damages for defamation. On the sixth day of deliberations, the federal jury decided that the 2012 best-selling book defamed Ventura in its description of a bar fight in California in 2006.

Kyle wrote that he decked a man whom he later identified as Ventura after the man allegedly said the Navy SEALs “deserve to lose a few.”

Ventura testified that Kyle fabricated the passage about punching him. Kyle said in testimony videotaped before his death last year that his story was accurate.

In this day and age, I find it very strange that nobody recorded the punch or at least the aftermath of it on video. Word against word just aint enough. And ONE witness seriously is not enough.

Better than that, Kyle said the police were called after he knocked out Jesse but no police report exists nor are any police Kyle's witness.

Kyle is a liar and losing this lawsuit only cements that fact.

Alrighty. Then the entire thread should simply end and the haters of Jesse can go back to hating on Jesse. Only thing is, Jesse is much richer now. And unsmeared.

a reply to: semperfortis Dude a little bit of knowledge is dangerous. Ventura is not going to get a dime out of the widow. The money will come from News Corp. insurance. I've seen Chris's hat before. It was a real fashion statement at the Boston Marathon bombing. Chris was hanging out with the Neocons. Let this be a warning to all the neocon boot licks out there. When the Neocons are done with you, you are the first people to go the way of Arkincide. This whole mess was the brain work of Cheney and old Turd Blossom. You can't see that? Tell us, you fell for the WMD's, mobile biological weapons labs, yellow cake forgeries, the OBL confession tapes, babies thrown out of incubators, Gulf of Tonkin, two aluminum planes knock down three steel framed buildings, "Kenny Boy" Lay died of a heart attack, and "the air is safe to breath and the water is safe to drink" in NY right after 911?

I wouldn't say much richer. He paid his lawyers out of pocket and they charged him by the hour. God knows how much this case drained his bank account.

So are all the Ventura haters going to apologize now?

Are all the people who thought Chris Kyle was a 'hero' instead of a serial prevaricator going to rethink their hero worship habits?

(Best part of the trial was when all of Kyle's 'witnesses' who were all utterly sodden at the time, tried independently to place where the altercation took place; each one said a different part of the bar, the patio or the sidewalk outside. The 'best' witness had had more than 15 drinks by his own admission.) So much for the somber wake scenario.

And the vehemence of the Ventura haters to this and hundreds of other threads on other forums shows just how much JV was harmed by this lie. Chris Kyle was in the habit of exaggerating and making things up all the time; it was just this time, there was a camera on him, it went viral, and then he doubled down rather than manning up and retracting what he knew was untrue. This is the kind of person our government gives medals (and rifles) to.

As far as who pays the award, it's not the 'poor widow and children' (already multimillionaires from both the book and movie deals) but the insurance policy for the publisher who should have vetted their facts a bit better. All it would have taken was a question to the Corona Police Department about the night in question and whether a report was filed. Ten minutes of research would have proven Kyle's allegations were untrue and that JV was telling the truth from the very beginning.

Chris Kyle was most prob a sociopath. He has lied a number of times about a number of things.

Jesse was right to sue, and I am glad he win. Problem is, so many people are up this guys #ss, that Jesse will not recover. Guy is not a hero, far from it!
