That and/or a general labor strike would get stuff accomplished in short order.

The IRS doesn't have to give consent. A federal court would do.

I think it's high time for a tax revolution. People just refuse to pay taxes until the IRS comes clean on the criminal activity in their own midst... Des

This lawsuit against the IRS seems to have been missed on ATS but fits well here. This should be given as much attention at the current one implying political bias.

forbes Improper seizure of 60 million medical records by IRS

The Internal Revenue Service is facing a class action lawsuit alleging that more than 60 million personal medical records were improperly seized by agents from the embattled agency.

According to a story by Courthousenews.com, an unnamed healthcare provider in California is suing the IRS and 15 unnamed agents, alleging that they improperly seized some 60 million medical records of 10 million Americans, including medical records of all California state judges on March 11, 2011.

The medical records included information on psychological counseling, gynecological counseling, sexual and drug treatment, and other sensitive medical treatment data, the suit alleges. A copy of the legal complaint can be purchased here for $35.

“This is an action involving the corruption and abuse of power by several Internal Revenue Service agents,” the complaint reads.

“No search warrant authorized the seizure of these records; no subpoena authorized the seizure of these records; none of the 10,000,000 Americans were under any kind of known criminal or civil investigation and their medical records had no relevance whatsoever to the IRS search

Let's cut the BS.

All these current scandals and attack on the President are nothing more than a republican ploy to avoid discussing, debating and finding a common ground to build upon to grow the economy.

The tea party are extremists, because they REFUSED any compromises and DEMANDS that their insane and flawed economic theory is the only solution to distribute wealth to all americans and see growth to the economy, by cutting spending and not raising taxes on the super rich whom have more money than brains to spend them on.

How more stupid can one get? Did austerity worked in Europe? Nope. It was an unconscionable UTILITARIAN plan to starved out the common masses so that whatever revenues the govt have, is just enough to retain power and feed whomever is left.

Every true economist worth his salt knows that in good times, a man saves money, and in bad, to spend. Simply because when the times are good, it will not be forever. As long as there is enough to eat, the balance can be saved for a rainy day.

And when the rainy comes, he spends, as cash is king and he can buy up failed properties and biz, and even manipulated the markets if he wish.

A nation should be like that man, to save and build up his reserves. But unfortunately, previous presidents had decided to use loans instead of saving up, and thus the high debt of $17 Trillion today.

However, to discontinue such loans, would only spell disaster to the nation, as the world is in recession, going through bad times, and EVERY rich person hoarding up money, not circulating it. So where then is growth going to come from? Certainly not from the private sector as they are hoarding up wealth. Then how is the debt gonna be paid?

It falls upon the govts to keep the supply going, not by building useless white elephant projects, but projects that would ensure returns in term of finances and productivity, such as better roads, electrical cost reducing buildings, more street lamps to facillate safety and night shopping/service industries, etc, etc.

When a $10M govt tendered project is awarded, the company makes a profit of $1M, and pays off the balance $9M for materials and labour.

The money circulates through everyone, from the miner who dug up the mineral, to the construction worker, and with their money, they pay for services - fuelling other industries in turn, with the govt receiving tax revenues back in the end - through the project worker salaries to the eventual purpose for the project - rentals or tolls or productivity which can translate into financial terms.

With such revenues returned, it leads to growth, and then the private sector will jump in and in time, the GDP will rise 3 times its current value, more than enough to pay off any debt.

The only worry about stimulus is that the money should not be use for unproductive and wasting means, such as building roads to nowhere, or for corruption, or for the construction of more apartments by the rich whom with excess funds, for property speculation is gambling and will only rise up the value of properties, making it unaffordable for the young generation to rent even, let alone buy.

Property is the best gamble,as it offers highest returns than banks in rental and sale within short terms, and poses no headaches for the rich to worry about such as investing in manufacturing or services, but it ony hurts the young and creates the extinction of manufacturing/services and progress. Thus, the rich cannot be allowed to conduct such unconscionable ways to park their hoarded funds.

Manufacturing and services, while are complex and labour intensive, are the only means for a nation to progress and evolve. as it involves innovative science and tech of the higest levels and creates massive employment for all, and more importantly it circulates wealth.

All these needs money, and it will give returns in more ways than one. But to cut spending, stop loans and don't raise taxes on the rich, where then is the money gonna come from?

When austerity happens, depression will strike and even the rich will see their funds dry up and end up queuing at the soup kitchen like everyone else, because when money is NOT circulated, even the rich hoarded funds will have to come out to pay for their living expenses, and will be drained one day, worse in depressions as inflation may be in thriple digits for necessities.

As schools will close down, only those with brains and skills will be in high demand and they will be the few and command the prices. As no one can afford labour, mineral and agriculture lays untended, or those tended by families, is sold at high prices.

May the republicans stop screwing the american people and stop playing their economy deflecting games.

Outsiders, baby, and we suing the courts.

Cuz, we dope as F... and only get a two in the Source.

Eminem.

Now if everybody did actually sue, we would put it all at a standstill. It might be a good thing, but more likely a bad thing.

I really don't think this could actually grow any momentum. It seems everyone with any sort of standing in the government is a lawyer, so good luck penetrating that circle. Sounds nice on paper though.

After all that unsubstantiated or petty scandals the GOP dished out to fool the masses over the past weeks, Today, the GOP finallly revealed its hand - deeper cuts to social expenditure, reinstate military and DHS budgets, with NO deal on calling upon their rich masters to pay more taxes.

Simply put - the GOP DEMANDS austerity without Growth upon the american people, a failed policy even acknowledged now, too late, by EU.

Tighten your belts folks, and thank the GOP for supporting the 1%. Despite all the BS with the scandals, hypocrisies of standing up for victims, etc...they NEVER CARED about the american living People, with that kind of budget they are imposing now. Closing down schools, social services that were intended to put americans back on their feet, funds to increase productivity, and those that deal with the elements of nature - both natural and men, etc.

2014 GOP budget plan

There are some who believe that resources are not unlimited, and growth cannot be forever. At some point, it will end or we over-population mankind will starve as there may be no more resources left to feed any.

But the truth is, we had NOT run out of resources, nor anytime soon. Peak oil is now a lie. Climate change will cause drop in food supply is another lie as while one area is decimated by weather, another area experiences bumper harvests.

Thailand has so much rice in their warehouses unsold due to its stupid management that it began to rot. Australia had to close down its mines, left the rich resources underground as the demand was not there. In China, the demand for food resource is so great and fast that producers added toxic ingredients instead of waiting for harvests to sell to the chinese and got super wealthy overnight. African corruption is so notorious, much of its people starved because no social expenditure was expanded to them with the science and tech to tap those great wealth there.

Ever since the industrial revolution, we had been lied to that unlimited growth is impossible, and thus the need for culling which UN WHO had supported worldwide. But the reality was that we had NOT hit or even know our limits. Each year, our growth is as phenomena as the past, despite occassional greedy man made hiccups.

The reason is because we mankind expanded, with more people, we created more needs and paid for it, and thus the circulation of wealth progresses with each child born. The other reason is thanks to science and tech, as we discover new ways to meet needs and cut wastage, such as better resource management, tech education for the young to build upon learnt knowledge, to expand, to create, to circulate wealth.

With proper management, our resources will not run out anytime soon. Furthermore, as we expand in population of young, in science and tech - the planets in our solar system alone would meet the next millenia's generations needs if our own planet is not exotic enough for the new folk's palate, with a Universe awaiting us.

However, if we cull, through various insidious methods such as, destruction of the families by disabling them from find jobs to form such, encouragement of homosexual marriages, encouragement of division fights, start wars, etc, there is NO way to control that descent that may lead to our own extinction one day soon.

The rich and elites will not be culled, as they are in control, but how many of them are brightsparks that could lead mankind to progress and evolution?

Gates was no rich man's scion. Steve Jobs was a dropout. Many of NASA scientists came from humble families. Internationally, most Nobel Prize winners in all disciplines did not came from elitist background. Nelson Mandala was not a prince. Merkal only an east german girl once struggling to survive, etc.

Point is, when we cull, outright or insidiously, WHOM had we DENIED LIFE whom may be the ones who will lead mankind to greatness?

Best not to play with culling, but rather, think of growth and ways to facillitate that growth into the stars, which lays mankind's destiny.

GOP and the deluded Tea party are only political based parites within a democracy. May they know which side their bread and their next generation's bread is truly buttered on the bigger picture of the economy which they and their kind are incapable or simply too retarded to comprehend - the selfish 1% or the capable of great works 99%.

And may they and their blinded petty ignorant one-liners supporters even here end their sideshows of pulling the IRS wool, whom are only doing their independent jobs of verifying taxes, espacially more scrutiny over the rich's well known methods to hide and hoard wealth so as not to pay correct taxes, over american people's eyes, and start working for USA, not for various different personal or minority group self-centred agendas. The sum of whole is bigger than an individual or the few individuals in a civilised nation.

This thread is not about how you feel about the tea party. Nor is it about the 2014 budget plan. Can you contribute to the topic at hand?
If not can you kindly not spam the thread? Thanks.

Except one small problem... They didn't do anything wrong according to our tax code. Also, some of their money was made in other countries. Perhaps it is time to change the tax code to make it less complex? Less rules and less chances of a company paying too little.
