Beijing proposes four-point peace plan to Abbas

Is China coming out of its shell with this proposal ? China is usually happy with whatever you do in your own countries and doesn't bother whoever isn't around their borders.

The Chinese news agency Xinhua reported that the proposal was made during a meeting between Jinping and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who is currently visiting Beijing.

The four-point proposal, according to the agency, calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and peaceful coexistence with Israel.

“To establish an independent state enjoying full sovereignty on the basis of the 1967 borders and with east Jerusalem as its capital is an inalienable right of the Palestinian people and the key to the settlement of the Palestinian question,” the Chinese proposal states.


“At the same time, Israel’s right to exist and its legitimate security concerns should be fully respected.”

China Flag Xi Jinping's sudden announcement that China has a peace plan for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict seemed to come out of left field. Traditionally skeptical of foreign entanglements, modern Chinese leaders have studiously avoided taking stands on international issues – remaining neutral to a fault, as when China's resistance to recognizing the new governments of the Arab spring led it into a series of diplomatic pitfalls.

So, what's you guys make out of this ?
Are they announcing their candidacy of contending in the quagmire that is the middle east ?


IMHO, they could really do something since they have always been pro-Arab but also friendly towards Israel.

China's new leader understanding to be a global leader you need to help the little guy?

.... or maybe they just know Israel an the US wont accept it, so its a backdoor to a proxy war?


.... interesting but.... what happens when Abba's accepts it, the world gets behind it but Israel refuses to acknowledge it.. how long will Beijing stand by as a voice and not a force for the Palestinians?

Seems all a bit empty, whats China gonna do?, yeah lets enter a military pact. Israel carries on wantonly murdering Palestinians with death from above, whats China gonna do?, not a lot. Just one more country to fail to Palestine, just like the rest of the international "community", its a total farce. I think they may just be grabbing some cheap PR headlines to counter American propaganda about Wee Wa Way Way or whatever and the people they like to put in jail every now then.

America doesn't want to go against China.
America has no issue against Syria, Lebanon or Egypt.. but China?

If China genuinely stood in the middle and told Israel an attack on Palestine is an attack on China I think you'd have some pretty hard and fast negotiating going on!

i say move the palestinians to jordan their homeland. problem solved.

Well Israel/China has a ten billion dollars a year worth of trade on there books, also the fact China being the largest importer of middle east crude, I can't really see this being born out of any sort of altruism for Palestine.

Probably China has tacit approval from Israel to voice this with the Palestinians. China has never shown any initiative over others' affairs and also not a known busybody.

BTW, Netanyahu is in Beijing !!!
