1. This is a question formulated by one who did not want any answer in return.

2. If not 1., why the blip would you want to know?

It's like wanting to know what God is.

This whole thread is blasphemous.

You can't win with this riddle.

It is always this one was first cuz of this, that one was first cuz of that.

I say, we should just quit eating chicken and their by-products as to not have to play this game.

The egg was first - fish came from eggs and they reckon fish were around before chickens.

Funny you should post this now.

Just last night I had an epiphany re; " What came first, the chicken or the egg?"

I have the answer.

.... The Rooster.

The dinosaur came first.

Then the dinosaur evolved into a chicken.

The egg is always first as it contains the next evolutionary step.

If however you want to say God created everything, then the chicken came first although God could just as easily have created the egg first. Perhaps as a surprise for the Angels. They sat on the eggs to keep them warm and when they hatched they said "awwww, it's cute!"

If it was a fish egg - it was not the chicken.

I'd say chickens don't exist.

Maybe a better question would be, (just for not having a one line post) Where is the chicken or the egg supposed to come from.

The answer is actually very simple...the egg came first.

Why?....

Taking evolution into account, the egg that hatched the first definative chicken came from a bird that was almost a chicken but not quite. The egg for that first chicken came and then "it" hatched.

That whole fish thing didn't make sense. I don't think I should entertain any fish eggs.

You said the egg came from some other bird.

If you were on a game show you would have been eliminated.

Exactly. I don't understand why this is suposed to be such a polarising and complicated question. The chicken had to come from the egg. The egg came from something that was maybe not 100% genetically chicken. As with all evolution, it was a mutation.
